what are some videogames that are like those pen and paper tabletop rpg kinda like pathfimder and dunegons and dragons? with character creation and stuff
I always wanted to play one of those board games, but never had any friends to play with
alternatively, any ways to play those tabletop games online?

Attached: Pathfinder_RPG_Core_Rulebook_cover.jpg (278x359, 183.32K)

also how's tabletop simulator? I was interested on it but heard there was some controversy and chat got removed which was a major turn off for me

idk check out the Sorcery! series

Play pathfinder kingmaker or wrath of the righteous they're pretty accurate to source

Pathfinder: Kingmaker
Pathfinder: WotR
Divinity: OS
Divinity: OS2
Baldur's Gate 3
Solasta: Crown of the Magister

BG3 and Solasta are literally D&D 5e rips.

literally play pathfinder

but with who
I have no friends, irl or otherwise
how do you even find a group

>what are some videogames that are like those pen and paper tabletop rpg kinda like pathfimder and dunegons and dragons?
you've got a lot, since a lot of rpgs either straightup use table top systems or use systems based on them
Baldur's Gate
Icewind Dale
Neverwinter Nights
Planescape Torment
Knights of the Old Republic
Pathfinder: Kingmaker and Wrath of the Righteous
Systems based on them, but not fully tabletop are stuff like:
Pillars of Eternity
Tyranny
Divinity Original Sin
Arcanum

>Baldur's Gate 3
Homebrew trash, it's basically divinity 3
>Solasta: Crown of the Magister
Didn't pay for license so it's 5.1SRD at least the homebrew is good compared to BG3

Pathfinder video games.
Also you can find a bar in your area that hosts D&D nights, or some hobby shop with tables. You can usually join a table.

over here, going at night would most likely get me stabbed

shill me on divinity and baldurs gate

Well you can join an online game and play using a virtual table top (roll20, foundry). Some groups use the built in chat and some speak over discord. Some people expect you to pay to play, please never do this as it's not required. Find a comfy pathfinder 2e group online and you'll meet some people in no time user if you're not an autismo sperg.

I live in New Mexico, so I definitely understand that.
The hobby shops usually run their sessions early mornings on weekends.

BG3 is not finished. It's pretty great with a high budget, but if you're interested in getting familiar, I would say to hold off on that one. Solasta is your best bet with wanting to play D&D currently.
Divinity 1 is better co-op, I feel, due to the dialogue system and it now allowing 4 player.. DOS2 is more enjoyable if you're solo.

>any ways to play those tabletop games online?
Yes.
If you have a local game store, take a look at their social media. They might have periodic game nights where you can go there and just sit down and play.
As for online, look for the discord servers called Blue Hoods, The Tavern TTRGP, and Inevitable Disappointment Club, the forums Myth Weavers and Rpgcrossing, and Reddit.
Also keep an eye on /tg/. Sometimes they have lfg threads.
Also. play Neverwinter Nights 2 and its expansion Mask of the Betrayer.

>Divinity 1
Consistently good time
>Divinity 2
Armor is aids pick magic or phys damage and never use the other
>Bg3
Unfinished
All three are free on gog-games

>shill me on divinity
Fun combat system with plenty of environmental interactivity. Make poison pools, explode them, make oil pools, set them on fire, make puddles, electrify them, turn them into steam with a fireball etc. It's just fun. Also both OS games are made with coop in mind. They play well as a singleplayer, but are just cooler if you have someone to play it with you.
Baldur's Gate 1 is a low level adventure on AD&D system. Yeah, that's not really a good thing, and honestly I have a lot of complaints about that game, but if you're starved for simple low level adventures go for it. The second game is better though, the companions actually talk and have personalities, the story is better, you have an access to a larger pool of spells and abilities etc.
Dunno about 3, but I don't think it has anything to do with the previous games other than maybe the setting?

everyone talks about 5e, but what games have the closest feel to d&d 3.5e / pathfinder 1e

The pathfinder games, the neverwinter nights games, icewind dale 2, and the temple of elemental evil.

Kingmaker and Wrath let you go full pf1e build autism

>neverwinter nights
i thought this one was an mmo? maybe im misremembering

They made an mmo later as well, but it was an rpg originally.

There is an MMO called neverwinter.
The PC games are called neverwinter nights and neverwinter nights 2.
I mean, technically, there's a really, really old pc game called neverwinter also.

ah i see, thanks
