DMC3 was the first in the timeline and essentially a soft reboot. DMC5 had to tie together 18 years worth of messy canon into a decent ending, and it mostly succeeded. Compared to stuff like MGS4 it was a much better finale.

Nah, he has very little screentime in DMC5 and is saved for the last few missions. Also he was never confirmed dead in DMC1, that's just headcanon, he literally disappears in a puff of blue smoke. DMC5 bringing him back was good because his disappearance in DMC1 was really vague and poorly defined.

If anything DMC5 showed restraint with Vergil. They could have decided to have him present throughout the entire game like DMC3, but they didn't-

Even DMC2fags at least claim the game is good because of "gothic kino atmosphere," and that the game's detractors are actively wrong about it. 4 really doesn't have that great of a gameplay, unless you're into combos for the sake of combos, which isn't how I judge action gameplay, but to each their own.

It really doesn't. The enemies are more interesting and offer possibilities for more varied approaches (no super armor and shields everywhere) and have interesting gimmicks. Nero is a straight up improvement from 4 with Color Up, Payline and Hardway, and the Breakers offer some decent resource management gameplay and have some good utility. Dante is also better. He has SDT and SSSS, his moveset is better balanced (Faust aside) and every weapon has multiple good moves while also remaining somewhat indipendant (like the DMC3 weapons). The styles also got improved. V is a waste of time and dev resources, but it's not like he's that much worse than N4ro.
What 4 has over 5 are pointless combo tech and tricks which don't offer any value in actual gameplay (i.e. killing enemies and getting a good grade at the end).

Yes because cheap strategies are boring if they aren't balanced properly. And both Faust and Prop + RI are into this category.

RHN isn't AoE nor 1HKO. Only the highest charge does that much damage and it takes a long time. Plus I'm sure it can miss, though it's rare.
