He told Famitsu (via Gematsu) that the “large-scale titles” are being developed in collaboration with major companies.
One project, which has completed pre-production, is described as an experimental, high-speed RPG that offers an evolution of Final Fantasy Type-0. The second RPG, which was only recently started, is billed as a AAA evolution of Final Fantasy XV that will incorporate free exploration.
JP Games formed by Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata has a partnership with Sony for his new project. The game will most likely be a PS console exclusive that will be revealed at the next PlayStation event.
How does a man who releases a piece of shit like FF15 get a partnership anywhere? How do I also fail upwards?
Carson Myers
>high-speed RPG that offers an evolution of Final Fantasy Type-0 I really enjoyed that game. Hope it works out for him, and he doesn’t become another Sakaguchi.
Chase Cooper
The culture of seniority where you're supposed to listen to the old farts even if they are obviously wrong and nod in agreement. Naturally, they are valued over a new hire with no portfolio even if his only major work is fucking FFXV.
Nathaniel Jackson
You mean the man who saved the overambitious piece of turd that came out of Nomura's ass and managed to turn it into a mediocre but acceptable game that is still enjoyable in spite of all its problems in just 2 years and sell 10 million copies.
Hunter Wright
>2021 So, where are his "games", lol?
Robert Bennett
>managed to turn it into a mediocre but acceptable game But enough of your coprophilia fetish.
Probably got quietly cancelled after they reviewed Tabata's work.
David Jackson
2 more games where you hold O to win and a mullet faggot has PMS
David Wright
>Literally posts a video of a meaningless feature they added way after the release of the game just to mess around I'm not defending it, it's mediocre, but Tabata did manage to save the project and turn it into a success.
James Reyes
The only thing he managed to do is make a more braindead game than FF13. The 15 microcosm was a bigger flop than FNC combined.
Camden Morales
>meaningless feature Just like every other feature found in FFXV. >mess around Yep, that's what Tabata did instead of focusing on the core concept. >Tabata did manage to save the project Just like Russia is saving Ukraine from its future and freedom. >turn it into a success The marketing behind 10 million sales never elaborates on the FFXV extended universe costs, because when added they turn a success story into a dumpster fire. Also, where is that mobile MMO for China they set out to make? I guess it got cancelled after wasting at least 50 million dollars, lmao.
Ayden Hughes
I'm sure the higher ups at Square are very unhappy for those 10 million copies sold from a vaporware game that was projected to be a complete failure after 8 years of development.
Nathaniel Diaz
Unhappy enough to shitcan most of the DLC they were making to patch the holes they couldn't be fucked to fill during their alotted dev time.
Cooper Morales
to think they still squaretrannies giving this fired hack blowjobs for shitting out one of the worst jrpgs out there
Grayson White
I have to give it to Luminous Studios, they're loyal to Tabata to the very end. They're gonna waste a whole lot of SE's money and get fired just like he did.
He had two years to do something about it, I'm sure you could have done much better.
Cameron Cox
If it wasn't an abject failure Yoshi-P wouldn't be crying that people don't even want to check out FFXVI after XV. Keep being a delusional retard, though.
Easton Myers
No one asked him to direct this game and make it shit, Barry.
Luke Ramirez
>Yoshi-P wouldn't be crying that people don't even want to check out FFXVI after XV I've not heard about that, but I don't think this is the case. They were made to announce the game WAY too fucking early, and keep having to release proof of life announcements. People are over it, they just want it out at this point.
Matthew Williams
>let's see you do better I love it when fanboys fall back on this shit
It is a failure in the sense that it didn't make nearly as much money as they wanted it to make, for sure. But again, Tabata was put there to patch the holes two years before launch. The game is mediocre at best, I'm not defending it.
Landon Wright
Didn't he make a paralympics game that completely bombed?
Jace Gray
I'm not even a fanboy but whatever, if you like to hate him so much then do it by all means, I couldn't care less.
Benjamin Sanders
You clearly could, given you're white knighting him online
Samuel Ross
Tabata is even a bigger retard than he looks. Of course he had 2 years to complete FFXV because he spent a year firing the devs that didn't agree with him and bulldozing Versus XIII, getting a new team familiar with the engine and pulling an all-nighter to come up with a new narrative/combat system. He only has his hubris to blame. Well, it's not like he would have done better if he had more time as evidenced by every other game he directed.
Robert Miller
This landwhale has worse animations than FFXV. The staff exodus after FFXV release was no joke, no one wants to work for Square, let alone Luminous.
Andrew Gomez
I pointed out that he was put in charge of the project after 8 years of fruitless ambitions and I've called the game mediocre at best. I'm here on this shithole to talk about vidya, not to white knight.
