It's not. All of those games have critical design flaws that make them anti-fun.
Because dying is already enough of a punishment, forcing me to sit through tedium because I died doesn't help me learn anything, it's just irritating and makes me not want to play your game.

i was doing a run trough all the Metal Slugs, i shoot someone in the face and it fucking melted, it FUCKING MELTED, shit was so cash all these nu-indie games are garbage okeyish music

simple and addictive gameplay combined with an absolutly sublime soundtrack
Heat Signature. It's sci-fi Hotline Miami but slower and kinda shit. It's fun for a while but everything being procedurally generated gets old really fast. Worth trying out at least once tho
