that's silly, Sigma is barely a character with a half baked robot uprising motivation and while vile isn't much deeper, they make it clear in all of his appearances how much he hates X. Also while vile is absolutely not a good guy, you can almost sympathize with his petty desire to be better than X. I'm not even saying robot uprisings are bad plots but sigma is just all over the place.

Yeah Sigma is kind of tough to pin down. Why does he hate humans? He came from a position of power under humanity. He's drunk on power and uses his semi-immortality to be a huge pain in the ass. But is it just madness from the virus? Vile is just petty, and that's kind of cool.

I like him in part because he escapes the "virus did it" explanation for so many MMX Mavericks. The biggest "excuse" he has is a brain anomaly but it doesn't really rob him of culpability to the same extent the virus did Sigma.

Vile's just not on board with wanking the protagonist simply because he's the protagonist. He doesn't even care about actual villain shit like destroying the world or anything, he just wants to finally get over on X. And he's such a chad while doing so that you kind of want to root for him deep down. That's why I like him so much and wish he'd get his own games.
