He did literally nothing wrong

What shitty game is this from

Even if he felt like he had good reasons he still fucking betrayed his liege-lord at the most ciritical point of the new nation, the reign of the founder's successor. And that's not even getting into the fact that the Wardens were right, Orlais was NOT the most immediate threat, and his actions were disastrous on that standpoint. He had understandable reasons for his decisions, that's what makes him a good antagonist, but he sure as hell did shit wrong.

He made quite a few tactical and strategic errors in hindsight (not least of which was distrusting the Wardens, although Duncan should've reeled the King in), however I will say that his assessment of Cailan being incompetent was accurate, and by extension his battle plans at Ostagar.

>Even if he felt like he had good reasons he still fucking betrayed his liege-lord
The signal fire was lit far too late

>Orlais was NOT the most immediate threat
Return to Ostagar is canon user.

>The signal fire
He wasn't going in regardless. Fucking excuse.

Whether he did nothing wrong during Ostagar is meaningless considering how hard he shit the bed the moment he got to Denerim. Also if you play human noble and you don't execute him you're a woman

Can you marry his daughter even if you kill him?

>Also if you play human noble and you don't execute him you're a woman
after i beat him, i offered him to either drink the blood and become a warden or just kill him for treason. he drank the blood and died anyway. that was a great feeling to see him he actually didn't have much choice for the matter.

Him abandoning the Wardens would be like murdering the only priest before fighting an army of vampires. He essentially doomed the country were it not for one stupidly lucky Warden surviving to undo his fuckup.

Loghain and Cailan both tell you they haven’t seen any sign of the Archdemon at all, and Cailan goes so far as to doubt whether it’s even a real Blight.
Plus the knowledge of “only Wardens can permakill the Archdemon” is absolute top secret by the Wardens themselves, because they don’t want anyone to know the link between them and the Darkspawn. Pretty much everyone thinks that while wardens are good fighters, you don’t actually NEED them to end the Blight.

He did not know you NEED a warden to kill the archedemon

Still a massive fuckup.

T'is a curious thing

>numerous blights in this fantasy hellhole they live in
>every defeat of an Archdemon involved a Warden striking the finishing blow
>no non Warden has EVER killed one before
>the ones that do are never seen again in the public eye

Imagine being a military tactician and not putting two and two together.

>stupidly lucky
well...

But he did, where it not for Flemeth and the warden Ferelden would have fallen. Conscripting him to the wardens at the end is still the right thing to do though, as he would be a great asset for the Grey Wardens.

The best that western rpgs have to offer, lol

Even if his assessment were correct, allowing half of the kingdom's army to die is too great a loss. He made it impossible for him to defeat the Darkspawn.

He did something wrong when he was born h*man

It's not even half, and more would have died had he charged into battle.

ah shit the toiler cleaner speaks

>underestimate darkspawn threat
>fail to unite nobility behind him
>start civil war during darkspawn invasion
>fail to win said civil war
>made a pact with circle mage
>said pact failed big time, mage became demon, kicked off demon invasion
>spit on every society and religious conviction by selling own populace to hated slavers from the dark magic & blood sacrifice nation
Any Forums is quite adapt at siding with the loosing team.

So why did he not do his homework instead of immediately antagonizing that organization that was famous for stopping blights?

Most people disregarded the Wardens as a relic of the past, as we see in the Human Noble intro.
