The theme is also called New Frontiers by Vic Fuentes and Tomoya Ohtani. It'll be uploaded alongside the trailer.

About what I'd expect from this fucking trainwreck. Sonic Team has to be shitting themselves internally with the negative reception at this point. This trailer sounds like its not gonna do any favors.

We haven't had a game with unique inspired levels since Colors. Everything since then has been nostalgia bait or the most generic levels a platformer could have.

I am unironically hyped for this game

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Sega's going to shit out an absolute masterpiece by pure accident. It's going to be a reverse TORtanic

Blame classic fags for that. All their bitching screaming and whining has made Sonic Team afraid to do anything ambitious and new for the series anymore.

37/40 from Famitsu. Cap me

Just from the obvious odyssey inspirations I would say this could easily be the best sonic game ever since SA2

Literally why did they bring Roger Craig Smith back?

Because he's better than Jason

classic sonic is sonic though. there's a reason the old shit is remembered so fondly.
nothing, not even the adventure games, reached the heights or made the same impact as the classics.
this.

>everything is inspired by nintendo
fuck off man. there's more to video games than generic mario and zelda shite.
also
>SA2
was overrated.

Except the few original levels Mania did have were really unique and inventive. Press Garden is one of the most unique ideas for a factory/ice stage.

>Blame fans of the games which consistently have unqiue, inspired levels.

Arent you forgetting that it was the modern fans that turned on sonic colours the second they got their remaster of their beloved saviour of the franchise and have moved their goal post to unleashed? Be honest with yourself, if unleashed gets a remaster they'll begin hating that too. Modern fans have no idea what they want and watching them astroturf in preparation for frontiers has been tiring. They have no sense of good game design or concepts and are driven enitrely by visual presentation to guide their tastes and always end up getting burned when the next game ends up mediocre because they area blind to the faults and warning signs that crop up before launch every. Single. Time. And then when its time to reflect they scramble to find some catch all solution to the problems the last game had and a scapegoat holding sega back to blame it on.

Hard pill. Its none of the fans' fault. Sonic team just suck at making games. Any idea they have enters the pipeline ill concieved and leaves poorly executed. Any success they find is a fluke and cant be replicated even when they have the tools and resources to do so. Modern fans may be blind but the only real blame that can be put on anyone are those who buy mediocre games and try to convince themselves and others that they're actually good though or buy games on the promise of the next one being better. So basically pokemon legends arceus fans.

>Its none of the fans' fault.
no. it's all on the fans. they can't take a game for what it is, they nitpick, pan and compare it to other shit.

Unleashed, Colors and Generation stages were great when they didn’t rely on wisps and 2D too much. I don’t know why they don’t go all in on that style.

Did you forget Colors had one of the worst "remasters" ever made? Colors Ultimate should have been such an easy win except it was shat out in a completely unacceptable state and still hasn't been repaired. Even before the glitches the game is a step down from the original. God awful music remixes, the worst possible visual choices I've ever seen, and to top it all of a lack of any meaningful game-play improvements or additions. SEGA flubbed quite possibly the easy win they could've ever hoped for.

I mean, Jason is pretty busy being a vigilante who's much more willing to kill and I think the Adventure one works as a dentist now, so Roger is probably the only one available.

Played it on PS4 and never ran into any issues.
I think you dorks just look for shit to seethe over.
Also, maybe not play non-Nintendo games on Switch?

it'll either be an interesting novelty or a complete fucking trainwreck and I'm eager for either

Oh come on. People chasing what made sonic good previously doesnt magically change what sonic team are outputting. If any of sonic teams games came out good without any asterixes like werehog stages or comments like 'its good if you play just 30% of it!' then there wouldn't be any infighting. Do you think Id cry about momentum and physics if the games were still good regardless? Hell I just played spark 3 and that game is built around boost pads and artificial speed and I had a great time! Funny how a series like say castlevania and mega man can switch entire genres and gameplay styles that coexist and have virtually no internet wars over the direction of the series. Sonic team created this monster.

Homie the game is covered in graphical glitches, newly introduced physics and menu bugs, broken audio, and the cutscenes are still compressed to hell and look like the OG because they didn't bother to re-render them at all despite having the assets. You are high if you didn't see any of these issues regardless of version.
