Namco just dropped the 5DX updates to Maximum Tune 5 for the US this year, so we have global internet functionality, even if the events are shit.
I'd buy any console with Ridge Racer on it but after RR7 and ace combat 7, I'm sure bamco would run it into the ground.

cruis'n blast on switch actually does run at 1080p60 on the switch, its pretty decent although it is a raw thrills arcade racer

I'm a big Ridge Racer fan and even I thought it was fuckstupid to show Ridge Racer 1 on PSP. R4 wpuls have made much more sense. The PSP eventually got one of the best in the series, but it wasn't Ridge Racer 1 from 11 years ago.

"Tries" to. Every time more than two cars are onscreen or you hit the boost button it shits itself, which is a lot since you should be constantly snaking to boost if you're playing on the hardest difficulty.
Shame the map variety sucked in it.

I miss Ridge Racer and Daytona and all, but arcade racers are in a pretty good place right now. Cruis'n Blast came out not that long ago and is both fun and the arcadiest arcade racer in a long time.
I only wish the game also included the n64 Cruis'n games. Was a pain in the ass finding a physical copy of Blast.

Seriously don't know what's stopping them from removing the licensed cars and tweaking the existing models to only look derivative of them. No one plays Afterburner Climax because it has real planes in it either and that game suffers the same problem.

You mean the car battle game that got refurbished as a racing game with tracks the size of a continent? Yea it's alright, the gameplay is fun but considering it look like shit I don't see why I'd play it over something like Ridge Racer, which is what I went back to do after completing it
