I've played a few (Ex, Alpha 3, MX, Z2, V, X, T, 30)
I like them because I like mecha anime, but I think they're garbage videogames not worth playing if you want to play a good game.

The only one I didn't finish was MX because my PSP got stolen when I was through it; and I got all the trophies / achievements for the VTX trilogy and 30.
I played them because I like mecha anime and I like to watch mechas exchanging blows. It's similar to how people endures mediocre, monotonous button mashing musous because they have cute anime girls.

I loved some of the older ones but 30 was so dumbed down and stacked in your favor that calling it a strategy game is honestly an insult to the genre.

I didn't get very far in 30, I think the whole choose your stage thing really brought the game down. I have characters I recruited in the 3rd stage that have barely talked because hey maybe you wouldn't choose to go to that stage first.

Boring stage based design, repetitive non difficulty shit and they never improve. Every game is similar. I like the animation but there is nothing more into them. Could've been x100 better if done right but they prefer their borfest cashgrab.

I like them but nobody cares about the series beyond /m/ and I don't like generals so it's a double loss on my end. Oh well

I used to but then I got tired of animations playing out for the 1000th time then I'm just skipping them and trying to finish battles as quick as possible to see an amalgam of mecha story cutscenes that are pretty easy to see coming. So I just watch attack videos on youtube when I feel like it. Basically, I don't care for SRPGs anymore.
