Any Forums tricked you, kek

Fun

Dragons. There may or may not also be a dogma involved.

Dragon Age Inquisition: Hipster Edition
Except with slightly better action. You get to mindlessly grind to clear maps for "kill 10 x" and "collect 8 x" side quests until you run into actual content. If you survive the grinding, you get awarded with sunk cost and stockholm syndrome where you try to cope with all that time you wasted playing an MMO offline.

Height and weight during character creation actually matters. Heavier characters can carry more, smaller characters regenerate stamina faster, which is useful for more spammy classes.
Avoid guardian and nexus inclinations on pawns. Avoid giving commands unless you know what they actually do.
There is no reason to obsess over stats and switching classes often is recommended. Classes unlock passive skills that you can equip on any other class. Warrior has universally good passives for physical characters, sorcerer for magical characters.
Advancing the main quest can cancel out certain side quests. You don't need to do them all, but there is a particular important one early. It's the witch wood quest. Going into the city before doing this quest is possible without cancelling it and I would recommend it (you can just teleport back). But don't go down the pawn guild. The witch wood quest leads to some other side quests and open up a small additional area with some neat fights, lore and gear.
You can kick the oxen to make him go faster.
I typed these tips out so many times, should really do some copy pasta or make some image.

It's a fantastic but flawed game and doesn't necessarily make it easy on the player for the couple of first hours.

this. horrible jank of a game

I hate it.
I hate that it makes me laugh.

As long as you remember that Selene is best girl you'll be fine.
I don't remember any side quest that required me kill 10 X. Those are notice board quests, which are skippable (I finished the game with "Hero" achievement and 0 board quests done). Really not sure what you are talking about.

>on the switch
>what am I in for?
Puberty, hopefully.

The magic is cool, don't get me wrong; the abysmal casting times at lower levels are a problem though (and Wyrmking's ring is locked until late into the game). I switched to Magick Archer because of it.

You were fooled by Any Forums the game is shit and I will explain why:

>No indication of where roads lead
>No hint to what enemies are weak to
>No hint of when enemies are alone or in groups
>No warning to avoid status effects
>No clue to which items are masterworks

I don't know how people defend this game.

>No indication of where roads lead
You already get map markers showing where to go, what more do you need?
>No hint to what enemies are weak to
Hire a pawn and they will shout the weakness 20 times per minute, in every fight.
>No hint of when enemies are alone or in groups
...use your eyes?
>No warning to avoid status effects
...use your brain? Really, thinking about "yeah I died of X before, I should bring a potion that cures it for my adventure" shouldn't be hard.
>No clue to which items are masterworks
I kinda agree here due to the fact that some important iterms (Golden Idol for example) are very easy to miss.
