Gamergate was real. I am a gamedev and in school the professors would tell us that it's not about how good we are or our talents or our creativity. It's only about who we know and if we are liked. This is a symptom in many other industries as well. The professors even stated that a highly qualified individual would be turned down over someone they liked/meshed with even if that candidate they meshed was amateur. It's a joke. And by like they obviously mean 'agree with'.
We even had classes in our game dev teaching us how to communicate and avoid microaggressions. It was taught by a newly divorced blue haired woman who doesn't even develop games. She was just there for teaching these classes. Turned out she was part of a sex swing club. Word got out. Anyone who spoke about it was basically shunned.

Step 2. Degenerate leftist with game typical of being deemed overrated sleeps with several journalists, said leftist had publicly called cheating a form of rape, so also a hypocrite.
Step 2.5 May or may not have tried to get game positive reviews for sexual favors, didn't get directly reviewed by individuals involved in sexual intercourse.
Step 3. Gets caught due to sympathetic boyfriend exposing them. General public left and right latch on story about corrupt journalists.
Step 4. Corrupt journalists all put out exact same story with key words pushing a narrative of Angry Entitled White Gamers to squash the story, secret journalist chat channels where they decide the news are revealed.
Step 5. Degenerate leftist cashes in on the situation with performative victimhood, complaining about 'twitter death threats', which espeshally at the time were considered as normal a part of daily internet life as breakfast.
Step 6. Larger left leaning news organizations like CNN, BBC and other normie media that love pushing Angry Racist Gamers and Feminists content pick up and amplify the story, helping set the fraudulent narrative that this is a Evil Rightwing Gamers vs Press Freedom and Women
Step 7. Said narrative becomes self fulfilling, as centrists are radicalized the injustice, and racists and alt-right see Gamergate as a great place to join Any Forums because the media told them they were welcome
Step 8. Gamergate gets cancelled, anyone who isn't actively opposed to it is banned from mainstream websites and previous leftwing supporters recant their support under threat and/or duplicity
Step 8.5 History gets written, and the truth is forgotten
Step 9. Trump runs for president, alt-right Any Forums and meme culture, energized by GG, help him break through the tough Republican Primary, and without their help Trump would never become president, changing politics forever
