This game is so fucking weird with how detailed the plot is yet so much of it is delivered through limited time events that if you miss you can't go back and do it again because so far in the two years this game has been out they haven't rerun a single event. So the story's always moving forward and there's always allusions to things that happened in past events and if you didn't do those events too you won't get what that's about. Now I personally have kept up with every single event so it hasn't been a problem for me but I feel bad for people who got into the game late or hell, even people who do in fact play the game but simply don't have the free time to do every single event because I am a pretty special case. Because those people are going to be so confused unless they go out of the way to look up the story on YouTube or something because the game does not even attempt to accommodate them. It's like "Hey, remember that event you did in 2020? Well it's 2022 and we're talking about it now as if it just happened the other day." And I have a good memory for this game so there are probably people who did play it but still have no idea.

Not going to read all that but its retarded to locked important story quest in limited time event for example Previous Mona and Fischl even reveals one of Fatui Harbingers and revealed Tevyat is one planetary sized cave
The goal of vaulted content is to punish players for not playing every single day and pressure them to never take time off. Providing an enjoyable experience is the opposite of what a gacha wants to do. Don't pity people that missed events use it to convince them to quit the abusive relationship they have with this cancerous piece of shit genre of "game".
Yeah that was the reason I quit.
No excuse for limited-time content without a way to get it later on.
I barely even remember anything about the story.
Even if you do everything there's stuff you miss even if you pay attention. And most people don't pay attention either way so your feelings are silly.
I want Venti to sit on my face
But then you'd smell his butthole.
Can someone tell me when the story picks up? Because I am not halfway through chinatown and its still dogshit
the problem with event storie is that those always keep the status 'quo', so nothing really changes, its just some made up on fly problem with themed location and just some filler dialogues, you might learn one trivia about some gacha character and thats all, at least they bring gacha characters to sub stories, first year of genshin you were doing some fetch quests for generic looking NPCs
you're looking at it the wrong way
it's a journey
the problem with genshin impact is how fucking boring it is and how pointless it is to play with friends, from my understanding "endgame" is just waiting for different days of the week to mow down some garbage AI for a chance at rare stuff to craft to make your waifus stronger and then you repeat that until you are on your deathbed with a thin sheet on you with nobody around that loves you.
is that right?
Good, newfags aka latefags can fuck off
i dont think its retarded. i like it. it reminds me of my old classic MMORPGs from pre-WOW that had one time events. it made them really special and memorable and kind of magical to think back upon with my friends from the time.
genshin impact will be the kind of game 'you had to be there' for to experience which i think is what the developers INTEND. they want to prey upon their customer's fear of missing out(FOMO) to keep them playing every day. same FOMO psychology they use with the limited time banners.
at some point this shit will all be emulated tho and you'll be able to play through all of genshin on your own private servers. with the events restored, new custom content events, etc. will take a few years but nerds are working on it already.

i love genshin but its not really a game with an end game. its not that kind of game. sure, it has 'stuff to do' when you're out of other shit to do that could be considered the end game(spending your daily resin, doing abyss, etc) but thats not what the game is about. that stuff pretty much exist to keep players engaged between lulls between actual content releases, which are pretty regular. most players stop playing after they do all the current content/events and maybe just log in for 10-20 minutes a day to do their dailies/use up their resin. genshin is about waiting for the new content, playing through it, then waiting for the next content patch by doing the minor events/farming you can do in the mean time.
people who try to play genshin impact all day long, every day, like its some mmorpg only have themselves to blame for having nothing to do and forcing themselves to milk the daily content as if its mandatory and then complaining that its not 'good'.
You're that far and haven't internalized that the game is overrated shit yet?
bro it's a game made so even little kids and women can beat it
what makes you think the story would be any better
never take gacha games story seriously lmao, i just consoom what it present to me at current moment, because everything is designed around gacha live service business model the story will never be consistently great
endgame is decorating your teapot and developing a tulpa
What is exactly the issue? Outside the very first Fischl+Mona+Scaramouche event the game had near launch, i don't recall any of the other events being plot relevant, and i'm pretty sure Enkanomiya is permanent.
Yeah the story is dogshit and says absolutely nothing at all the entire time, agreed.
But you're supposed to fap you fucking retard. Also just play the private server when it gets more polished.
half of enka was an event
and honestly most patches have tons of limited lore but you can just watch the stuff on youtube if you really want, lots of channels cover and explain every single detail worth noting.
