I miss when final fantasy experimented with gameplay. I hate the gambit system but at least they were trying something. Now it’s a copy of WoW, or a rip-off of Witcher. They’re actively aiming for mediocrity now.

Final Fantasy combat was never that good. ATB stinks. People liked FF for the story, production values, music, CGI cutscenes,etc.
Other jrpgs had better combat, like Grandia, Shadow Hearts, Legend of Legaia, Tales,etc.

I stuck with FF till 15. It was the first time I really felt like this was not an FF game. I mean I played it an dhad fun with it, but it just didn't feel like FF anymore.
