i love mechas design as much as the next guy, but theres something to be said about the simplicity and sleekness of metals design. mecha seems like a badass brawler while metal retains the "robo sonic" vibe. plus the lore implications of being made up of the same dna as sonic is super rad and has led to some really strong moments for both sonic and metal.
