It's a gimmick that simpler technologies were very successfully emulating using 1% of the processing power. It's a scam.
They didn't account for poorfags to hold everything back
Sex with Homura.
>bought a 2070 super in 2019
>still haven't played a single game with raytracing
Lol @ my life
>Completely unnecessary technology that is barely noticeable but increases your electricity consumption by 300% is somehow a good thing
Shut up big electric shill
I honestly forgot it even existed. What new games even use it? Last game I remember using it is cyberpunk
It's actually a standard in 3D modelling
I wish physx was standard.
It's only good if the game is built with RT in mind like Metro enhanced edition. Otherwise it's just ultra reflection, ultra AO and ultra shadow. Not so different from very high and high settings.
It is standard... in AAA games... kinda. What were you expecting? Both of the big manufacturers need to saturate the market with cards that can do it for it to be a worthwhile venture.
People have been saying that it would be standard for games for years

But the truth is that RTX is just a gimmick for games, there's no need for them yet because its still too soon most RTX game hardly look any different than without it

it is, if you have dual 3090s
>most RTX game hardly look any different than without it
Main reason why is RTX right now is just an effect slapped ontop of the 50+ artificial light sources and simulations that already exist.
if there was a game that ONLY had ray traced light sources it would look like it should, but then you couldn't sell it to people that don't have an RTX card.
tell em like it is
Honestly scary that poor people are posting in the same spaces as me.
Don't you have some place to rob so you can make rent this month?
