Now that Bamco finally shit out Survive let's have a thread about the next Digimon Story game. We know that the Olympos XII will have a role, and that the game will be split 50-50 between the real world and the digital world.
What are your hopes and expectations? When do you think we will get news on it? What Digimon do you hope get added?
all the lore they try to build is trash, the olympus xii is probably the worst and most generic of all of them so I'm not expecting anything on the story front of things, hopefully it's an improvement to sluts rpg mechanics and combat system
No it won't because the royal knights are all digifags care about
as someone who loved Cyber Sleuth, as long as it is a conventional JRPG instead of whatever Survive tried, I'll be happy
they should have YOUR partner who can digivolve whenever + digimon who evolve, have lifespans and die (but they scale to where you are in the story/your partner's maximum level)

fun battles ulike CSes, the evolution trees are broken up like in the previous story games, and a good balance of talking and gameplay or at least talking that's worth reading.

I want the Pendulum Z mons to get models, If the Digimon Accel rosters don't get in that'd be retarded since that's where two Olympos XII mons came from, and I'd really like it if the X-antibody digimon get in there too somehow.

Gross. One of the best things Cyber Sleuth did was the having all Digimon be in a single evolution web.

Keep the partner system from Survive, but instead of Agumon, either make a brand new Digimon for the game or pick something else (Impmon, DemiDevimon, Keramon, PetitMamon, etc.)

Habu said we're supposed to be getting news on all the upcoming projects from 2023-2025.
It made getting new digimon feel pointless though. And really contributed to the feeling that all the digimon are just the same thing in different skins that game has.
Next Story is basically going to be Soul Hackers 2. I can't imagine them doing anything different at this point.
I think it will be a middle ground between Cyber Sleuth and Survive.
Finally finished the Origin gauntlet in Dusk fuck those assholes, like 8 continuous battles and multi-hit aoe attacks, and I got this motherfucker's data.
Is he good? I may add him to my team to finish the rest of the quests.
They already said it will have the Olympos XII. This probably means they'll be the baddies the knights beat up but you never know.
That's the only way it could happen because the writers for these fucking games are uncreative hackfrauds

The same thing I hope for with every game. A personality quiz before the game starts that decides your partner digimon even if the quiz only decides between one of like six it'd still be great kino option would be one of thirteen though and you get the rookie form of one of the Olympians or Titamon.

They should base the next Story on Xenogears.
It needs to really catch more people on the story and go into a deeper look at the worlds.
If they can capture that Lain/Evangelion/Xenogears feeling of how the AI/digital components in those stories work, the next Story game can be a 9/10.

Having a mecha focus in a Story game would be interesting. That episode of adventure where Greymon is huge and fighting that chicken in Toyko always reminded me of Eva.
I wonder how a game could capture that sort of feeling.
