Check assassins creed, cod, GTA IV, Crysis games, Witcher 2, Gears of war... all ran like shit even on expensive PCs due bad console ports.

This, and for the same reason the PS1/N64/Saturn era.

Both consoles going PowerPC was a huge fuckup for stuff like this.

No, the xbox 360 was the second best console ever made (right behind the Halo 2 machine, of course).

Those bad console ports still managed to work better than on consoles.

Was in school at the time and was just trying not to starve. Got a new TV as a present and I was blown away.

First party games were running pretty great on X360, they ran like shit on PS3 though. I'm guessing this is the reason it was the only generation which Microsoft actually won.
