Counterfeit Monkey, a text adventure based on wordplay.
You can use a p-remover to convert a pear into a (severed) ear, then show that ear to someone to scare them.
Or use a t-inserter to convert a pin into a pint.
Or use a "homonym paddle" to change a band (as in a strip of paper) into a band (as in a group of musicians).
And other stuff I won't spoil.
Not only does the gimmick never get old, but every time you think you've finally encountered a technical limitation with how the wordplay works, you realise the game was holding out on you and you just needed to unlock it.
It's a ridiculously clever game, must have been an obscene amount of work to implement, thoroughly polished, and free.
Unfortunately it's probably not a good choice as a first text adventure if you've never played one. It has a tutorial, but you don't really want to be dealing with all the wordplay stuff alongside learning basic movement and interaction verbs. For anyone who does have basic familiarity with Zork-style "go west, pick up stick" games, and hasn't played CM, I can't recommend it strongly enough.

assuming this is genuine, at least ace attorney is pretty good. and eastward's art caught my eye. haven't played it though. played one of the developer's other games, inmost, when it came out and it was pretty buggy.

Nice Ace Attorney. One my fav series. Looking forward to Eastward too, bought it when it came out but I haven't gotten around to it yet.. such a pretty game though

I say this almost every time I see it, but I don't understand picking RDR2 over Red Dead Redemption. The graphiscks don't justify the downgrades in gameplay.
Anyway, Burnout 3 good.
Bloodborne overrated.
I think I like Rain World but my feelings are flip flopping on it.
Klonoa good.
TLOU2 -> another garbage game which only has the technical quality of its graphics going for it. Tons of better third person stealth games or stealth games in general. I just don't get that kind of thing.
Kingdom Hearts is ok. Some of the games almost makes my grid, but all of them have points of frustration that keep them off it.
Rain World ok. Journey good. Klonoa good. SotC and Bloodborne are overrated. I want to play FFIX sometime. Kind of on a Square Enix kick tbqh, so maybe soon.
Interesting taste. I have a copy of Rez and Child of Eden, but I've basically only just touched both of them. Should sit down and play them, but I think I need the itch for that kind of game.
Ico looks like something I'd like more than SotC. Katamari good. Dark Souls is pretty good.

Others are FFIX, Tales of the Abyss, Klonoa and Braid. EB and SotC might as well represent the other Itoi and Ueda games, I love them all; so it’s always nice to see Ico on a grid.
Automata isn’t my favorite Taro game. BotW isn’t my favorite Zelda. But both are good.
I should try Tunic and Snakebird.
