Will companies ever return to dedicated handhelds?
Will companies ever return to dedicated handhelds?
Handhelds as a platform are basically dead now that nintendo realized that you can just take shitty underpowered hardware, for people to pay for online and charge full price for budget games anyway.
No.
Next question!
It's shitty android gaming now.
Maybe, but in the form of "Switch" type systems with higher capabilities. Steam just released their version of the Switch, and depending on how it sells I wouldn't neccesarily be surprised to see Sony and then Microsoft release their own version. I don't think they will, but I also wouldn't be surprised if they do.

>Now
For me, it was the PSP Go.
Nintendo's the only one doing it in the console space. Valve's not the only one doing it in the PC space but they're doing it the best and cheapest.
In terms of games it's both a 3DS and a Wii U successor, but in terms of audience the Switch is a direct Game Boy / DS line successor.
That's why it doesn't even compete against PlayStation and Xbox.
Only muh UMD fat chubby fucks with fat ass hands hated the Go. And those alien handed fuckers with long fingers.
Who's to say. I personally doubt it since mobile phones have cornered the market. There's just too much competition now.
What are some must play 3ds games? I just downloaded the new freeshop equivalent, and I need more.
smartphones are like 50% of the gaming market, so no
Valve made the Steam deck and chink handheld market is booming right now. Handhelds are coming back
Kid Icarus Uprising (can't be emulated on PC)
SMT Strange Journey (can be perfectly emulated on PC)
I heard strange journey's remake is worse. Should I just play the DS version?
that's just non handheld games on handheld thing
Mobile games are essentially soulless handheld games.
Switch Lite exists.
No. The SJR-exclusive (new) content can be completely ignored if you want. The rest of the things it adds are upgrades such as combat speed options and ability upgrades for the MC (who was basically a worthless cheerleader in the original game). Also improved visuals of course.
unfortunately it doesnt let you change the OST, would be a perfect game then
Alright, I'll check it out. Thanks.
>only people without fast internet connections hated the go!
=
>everybody hated the go
Don't you have cellphones?
The form factor was kino, reminded me of the psp phone. Digital only killed it.
If you couldn't afford internet speeds that would allow you to download 20MB-1GB sized games at the time, why spend your pennies on a Go?
Most of the US is still on DSL, my dude.
