LINUX CHADS, I have a question:

Can I play Blizzard games on Linux? Especially the new Diablo 2 Resurrected?

Can I get banned for doing this? I fucking hate Windows.

It can play Windows games better than windows tho

Blizzard used to maintain "unofficial" support for Linux (making sure their games ran well in Wine). I don't know if their stance has changed on that.

Maybe. Unfortunately, ProtonDB is still strictly for Steam games despite not being strictly for Proton anymore, so the only place I know where to look for compatibility reporting is WineHQ (and I don't know how trustworthy it is because I practically never use it):

If there's anti-cheat then I wouldn't assume it's safe unless someone says it is. There are games that have an explicit policy of banning Linux users (see Destiny 2).

Why do Epic Games employees love to spread FUD about GNU/Linux?

Epic are fucking fudders. It's what they do.

Did you even bother to open the pic, you dumb fuck?

I wonder what the church of the sun genius is up to now, haven't checked in like 20 years.

why do you cry? bad day?

I'm just saying that you missed the point. That pic has a tweet written by a Valve employee, not by an Epic Games employee.

So he replied to the text of your post instead of the unrelated image. What's the problem?

It was an ironic post. Why are Linux users so fucking autistic?

What does that screenshot of one of Valve's main Linux devs have to do with Epic?

...

So I have to check for myself? Nobody here tried it ever?

I don't currently have Linux installed so I wanted to ask first

Arch user here. I stopped playing games because I'd rather start fixing my life than trying to escape from it 3+ hours a day.

>windows
>can run most windows 1.0 shitty programs, released almost 40 years ago, no major issues
>seamless compatibility layers for most recent OS

>linux
>try using software from last week
>"whops, sorry! (not sorry! XD) but this piece of free (as in freedom) software was compiled using glibc version 6.2.15.572-rc2 and you're using 6.2.15.573 so no dice! :))"

very epic indeed

>"i freaking hate windows!!!"
>install some shitty freeware OS
>h-hehe! take that windows!
>proceeds to emulate windows apps anyway
why are linuxfags like this?

Oh, didn't read to the bottom of the thread. Guess it was just a pointless shitpost.

if it's free as in freedom just recompile it lol

As of six months ago, the site officially supports the submission of compatibility reports for running games natively, because people had been shitting up the metrics by doing that anyway (which had resulted in reports tagged with a Proton version but containing text like "didn't use Proton").

I don't know if they also officially allow reports for non-Proton compatibility tools like Luxtorpeda or just straight Wine, but at this point, they might as well. And since the site has already betrayed its name, they might as well make it more generally useful by allowing non-Steam users to report on non-Steam games. But they probably won't.

i heard 12700k has driver troubles below kernel version 5.16. I use kubuntu, can i just upgrade the kernel or would it be better to run a different distro?

Just some more MechWarrior 5 and Stellaris. Kinda feeling like giving modded Skyrim a try after years of not playing it, hoping to find a nice modpack to eliminate most of the legwork.
