What was the appeal of Payday?

For years i have consistently been hearing about Payday, and mainly Payday 2, but playing it now, i really don't get the hype. The game is quite literally a collection of progression bars, stiff shooting, and stealth that's somehow worse than the stock ubisoft formula. The only real content is the bazillion shits you get to unlock, by endlessly grinding the same missions over and over, or pay out the ass for DLC. I tried, i really did, i even got 3 friends along to play with, so i wouldn't have to deal with randos, and it still wasn't fun. Just endless waves of cops, and endless defend objectives. A shame really, the concept itself is extremely cool.

Payday the Heist >>>>>>>> Payday 2

Why? It's literally the same shit, but even more bare than the second game. The atmosphere is cooler, i'll give you that, and it's also much clearer what the tone was supposed to be, before they started making shit up on the fly. But the grind is even more linear and excruciating.

gunporn and shooting mechanics that are actually fun, and some heists are neat setpieces (off the top of my head scarface's mansion, beneath the mountain (?), breath of sky (?), shadow raid, car shop (?), no mercy, all the mall heists, the reservoir dogs tie-in, the yacht)
also fuck you for baiting and not mentioning anything about the OST

>Just endless waves of cops, and endless defend objectives.
>he plays missions loud
lol
True fun is to stealth speedrun jobs with friends. Game is shit nowadys because the devs are incompetent retards, just look at their failed WW2 heist game or that Walking Dead one they shit out in 2018.

The ost is banging, still doesn't make up for the shit shooting, you cannot convince me that the shooting is good, it's somehow more dry than Battlefield 2.

>Stealth
>Payday
like i said, even ubisoft has more competent stealth mechanics.

Aim for the head chucklefuck

Woah, no way man, it's not like this has been a thing since 1998

Good recoil, you actually have to aim and control your bursts, good sound. Payday has it all, what else do you want from a gun game?

There was none.
It was fun to play with a full squad of friends for like 2 days, then you've seen and done everything and you can delete the game.
If you don't have friends, then there really is no point.
I can't believe any one actually liked this game.
It's another indication of how fucking retarded consumers are.

The general consensus is it was fun before they started catering to retarded zoomers with memes.
The H3H3 pack is still the worst DLC I have seen added to a game by far.

Feedback from the enemies.

PD1 is way faster paced, everybody runs at sonic speed and the guns feel like cool hollywood guns instead of the clunky /k/ autism guns in PD2. All the missions have a unique set piece feel to them and there's no retarded le deep lore made to cater to reddit.

It was just a left 4 dead copy anyway, literally the same mechanics, but they replaced zombies with cops.

Ah yes, i cannot wait to spend 2 hours to unlock an entire 3rd gun to add to my arsenal.

The content is making builds, tactics and equipment and boostijg profits in endurance modes

Absurdly stupid builds and the package as a whole (pirated) had a lot of content for a lot of hours of neuron activation. Beyond that, shit game.

people wanted any game with a heist premise/concept, and it was released before GTAV. GTAIV's cops and crooks was great, but they dropped it in GTAO because of BLM.

Payday does suck in execution as it is just an FPS tower defense, but it is the only game we have. GTAV's heist has cool downs and they are just linear quests.

Enemies react to your shots, if you shot them into unarmored parts of course. So unarmored guys get staggered by normal shots and armored ones get staggered (or rather killed) by headshots. The only exceptions are bulldozers.

You are retarded
I played it with randoms all the time
You are just too much of a consoomer to get the appeal of highly replayable games with high skill ceiling

Do overdrill a couple of times if you wanna complain about muh grind instead of having fun just playing the game.

This, anyone arguing for the gameplay is retarded, the game was always more about planning out routes, and managing stats, picking the right equipment.

I don't understand why people like horde shooters like COD Zombies and L4D in which you're just supposed to kill enemies over and over again.

The weapon stats and builds in this game made me hate it. Weapon you like? Nope, it does literally nothing to enemies past X difficulty. Copy past this build if you want to play X difficulty and run around like sonic with a rubber chicken up your asshole

>getting filtered by Payday stealth
lmao

That's why you don't play on difficulties after Deathwish.

What payday really needed is more items to reliably hold areas down, on most difficulties, the game quickly becomes an ammunition management simulator.

It's not that i don't understand it, i just don't hate myself enough to seriously engage with it.
