Do you play Planetside 2? I love how big and chaotic battles can be.
PlanetSide 2
*right clicks the map and drops an orbital strike on just you*
it's very personel, kid
Back when it wasn't dead. Stopped because it got infested with hackers and servers started dying.
I stopped playing when I moved off the oceanic servers to US because of the grind.
Tried it to see what the fuss was and ended up regreting spending 10 hours on this p2w lagfest pos.
It's fun playing with my friends from time to time, grabbing a Valk or lib and dabbing on people. God I miss being able to repair in the passenger seats, that shit was so broken but fun.
Also 4 heavies in a valks side doors spamming lock on rockets and bursting down scythes and reavers never gets old.
Beta was ok but every single update to this game has made it worse.
Removing NTUs was the biggest mistake Planetside 2 made in hindsight.
i love it
i go back and play the absolute fuck out of it for a month about twice a year.
nothing like being in a platoon of good, chill but co-ordinated bros and doing cool tactical shit that changes the outcome of fights.
>join a platoon
>they're doing "anti-tank bombs"
>48 guys all on Heavy with AT launcher, all in 4 galaxies
>flying max altitude above enemy tank columns
>everyone jumps out at the same time
>48 anti tank soldiers on foot in/on/around enemy tanks
>destroy entire tank columns multiple times like this
>angry TR in allchat
get fucked commies
i like being a medic in it too, singlehandedly keeping a squad of lads up or hucking a revive grenade at a dead squad on a flank and then winning the battle cuz of it is pretty sick
honestly cant wait for PS3
I still go back every now and then
>hackers
was that ever an issue? I would die in some suspicious ways but I could never tell if it was hacking
>PS3
never ever sadly
I played at launch. It was exciting seeing all the factions being barebones and wondering what they'd do to make them all so different.
Then the game just turned into TRay skull masks with every faction getting the same thing every update
I did and the games development made me sad
So I switched over to foxhole which is arguably just as much if not even more of a shitshow
some of the recent rebalancing has made it sound like i could bring in some newcomers to the game and they wouldn't feel like they're at as significant of a mechanical disadvantage in gunfights
i have some decent memories of playing planetside 2 but whenever i actually wind up installing it, i remember that it's not even 20% up to what made planetside 1 great
Years and years ago.
The battles for The Crown (before they nerfed it) were easily some of the most fun I've ever had in a multiplayer video game
Not after they all but removed the ability to grind up weapons and upgrades and monetized everything to hell. I can't even spend the points I have on other characters anymore. Its locked on the one you acquired them on. Of course this makes you need to buy basic shit if you play another faction all over again.
I used to at launch and a almost 2 years beyond
I even used to commentate tournaments and had access to dev cam and a special server for it
I've played a lot of foxhole in the past but coming back to it is always kind of intimidating because of how much the game keeps changing. I mainly did logistics and I have to relearn it every time I want to try again.
Played it for a few months solid way way back in 2013 or so. Was part of a very active TR clan on a Euro server. It was a blast desu. When everything clicked, command put you to good use and you found yourself knee deep in dead Vanu trash as hundreds of players fought it out it was amazing. Most of the game was spent just taking over empty bases/getting zerg rushed by overwhelming numbers and having to retreat.
We were outnumbered like 2:1 on the server so we rarely won but when we did it was well earned and felt good.
Check back in with the clan about 5 years ago and the ones that are left were all playing heavily modified minecraft mp... So I said goodbye and moved on forever.
Surprises me that the game is still going. It had so much potential but it seems like the devs/publishers didn't get what the players wanted because every update just brought new frustrations and pushed out more players.
I refuse to play until they allow open server transfers, I do not want to play with chinks anymore but I am not going to grind all over again.
They lost me when they added huge spaceships that almost singlehandedly win battles. You used to need a lot of skill and charisma to direct and encourage 48 bumbling idiots, now you just go "hurrrr big ship" and win battles
Was great but got stale. Best mmofps I've ever played but the designs are a bit dull and copy pasted between the teams/bases. Wish someone would copy the idea but with a 40k licence.
