Star Fox

Miyamotos last game. Really obvious he was behind this one and personally insisted on using both the gamepad and TV despite the two being so far apart no matter what your setup is
Star Fox deserves a new game. A fresh shot with a fresh dev team like Next Level Games or Koei Tecmo.
No Miyamoto. No Imamura.
Just a completely fresh take on Star Fox with devs who care and can actually revive the franchise.
I'm tired of how terribly this series is mishandled.
I'm sorry your series ended on this fucking awful game.
This game was trash but realistically what can Nintendo do with this series besides just rehashing Star Fox 64 again?
Same as every other game Star Fox but open world.
A multiplayer focus regardless of gameplay format I think is necessary.
Star Fox, as a team, consistently consists of four members. Why not have all four members playable in single player?
Star Wolf typically has four members as well. Why not have 4v4 dogfights Star Fox vs Star Wolf?
Multiplayer, online battles, foot missions, better gameplay more spaceships with other type of ammunition and so on.
I managed to get all the medals in single player and did all the training missions and I can say it isn't as bad as people make it out to be. I prefer Star Fox 64 or even the super nintendo titles because of its more consistent quality despite zero having moments that easily outshine any game in the series. Coop is also fun.
Multi-player never really worked for star fox. The best we got to date was star fox 64 3D and it was fairly basic.
Krystalfags ruined starfox
>foot missions,
Ew
Why is that such a bad thing? Why not just make a campaign of good missions with some creative ideas to spice it up, online modes, etc.? You people act like every Star Fox sequel has to be a new genre or something. The first three games were the same style, so why not just continue refining and advancing that concept?
What are you talking about? Assault's multiplayer is based and typically considered the best part of that game.
Star Fox can definitely do multiplayer.
>but realistically what can Nintendo do with this series besides just rehashing Star Fox 64 again?
That's literally all fans want. Also, you could make an on rails game and do a lot of new things. Like new level ideas, new paths, new ships, new combat skills, etc. It doesn't just have to be a clone of Star Fox 64. The problem is Nintendo keeps trying to completely reinvent the wheel with certain series (F-Zero, Star Fox, Metroid). Then totally ignore it with others (Mario Kart, Animal Crossing, Pokemon). There's a middle ground which series like Mario and Zelda hit. But they won't let Star Fox do it.
Smash Bros fans obsessing over Fox and Falco did 100x more damage than Krystal fans did.
Assault multi-player was lackluster and unpolished. Unlocked everything in it and even then it got less than an hour playtime from me and my friends before we switched over to something better like mario kart and melee. Game just isn't good.
What delusion are you living in?
>Game just isn't good.
ok patch
But assault really isn't a good game.
I can't believe Nintendo fumbled an easy premise, animals in space. Maybe Nintendo never truly cared about Star Fox. If you're not Mario, Zelda, Splatoon, Animal Crossing, Mario Kart, and Smash Nintendo does not even pretend to give a damn. Sometimes I wish Nintendo's main money makers would fail so that Nintendo is either forced to try something with older series or invent something else.
All I want to say is I want as many of the Star Fox characters added to Mario Kart as racers.
>But assault really isn't a good game
ok patch
>Assault's multiplayer is based
Assault's multiplayer fucking sucked.
>tons of explosive weapons, grenades, and powerful vehicle shots
>but no physics so any character shot flops up into the air and lands in the same spot, proceeding to get like 20 seconds of invulnerability, completely killing the fun of blowing shit up
Assault sucks
Speaking of Fox and Falco in Smash anyone else wish they would get different move sets with different abilities? I hate how they are the same.
>Platinum games involvement turned out to be pure asset monkeys instead of any design work
>Even if you somehow get around the controller scheme (which constantly spazzes out and you need to reset your gyro) the game itself is a soulless 64 remake with none of the shit that made 64 good
>Branching paths were hyped up during a direct with Black holes; Actual games barely have any of these and what few they do have serve as a complete asspull to connect completely unrelated levels
>Tons of shitty filler levels, some of them bordering on bizarre; That one random Peppy segment they put in for the BARREL ROLL LMAO memes, the helicopter mission where you sneak around an enemy base with a ROB bot, that one ring level they reuse and where you randomly get warped to so you can follow Leon around
>Adding to the last part, Leon is hinted at being up to something but we never learn what it is
>Less levels than 64 and fewer alternate routes
>No alternate endings
Every single thing up to release for this made it seem like it was going to be the first good one since 64 and they absolutely blew it
I will never not be fucking mad
If it was good they would have ported it to switch
Nail in the fucking coffin.
>What? You don't like forced WiiU gamepad controls in a Starfox game? Guess that means no one likes Star Fox anyone huh.
I would have been fine with just Starfox 64 again with better framerate/graphics on a home console but god damn they fucked it up
Where is Wave Race?
well krystal originally had her own game, but guess who said that she should join the star fox franchise instead
>tons of explosive weapons, grenades, and powerful vehicle shots
Even this isn't really the case. The weapon types are generic and typical of any shooter. No real variations besides the getting gun which is just a slightly more powerful machine gun. The vehicles even stink since the physics are off and the landmaster really sucks to control. The game play also requires little actual skill other than rolling and shooting a homing shot from a blaster
It really does. Star Fox Assault is a gimped version of Ratchet and Clank by Insomniac. Basically why play Star Fox Assault when you can play Ratchet who has tighter and refined gunplay? Also better imaginative weapons as well. If Nintendo wasn't so fucking arrogant I would hire Insomniac to make a Star Fox game. I don't care if they're Sony's bitch they KNOW how to make furry critters holding guns and shooting at stuff in third person view. That alone makes them worth investing in. If not that then head hunting the entire Ratchet team.
I'm not reading a whole image you made over one autist, dude. I don't know why they thought such a stiff, robotic multiplayer mode would be good, especially when it was originally an arcade game.
All this and you still can't prove patch wrong.
I've been calling for that since Brawl. But Sakurai doesn't want to change any of the legacy characters. And now that clone characters have their own designation "echos" but Falco isn't considered one, it's just a joke.
>patch is still going at it
goddamn
technically Super Mario Run was his last game
it is also the last Mainline Mario game with Daisy in it.
>you can't criticize my favorite game, you must be [boogieman]
Assault needs a sequel to improve on everything. It had good ideas.
Sakurai may start taking it easy and become more of a consultant when it comes to Smash since Ultimate is the most ambitious Smash for Sakurai. He can't top it due to the roster alone.
The real question is, lets pretend Sakurai gets an understudy to train them in the role. What are the chances that would be person is a Star Fox fan? The chances are low. We would sooner see a Mario or Zelda fanatic handling Smash over a Star Fox fan.
It's just fur fighters with a worse campaign and arwings
