>best combat system?
That would be Dark Souls 2

Decent combat system but shit everything else.
That's why the Nioh series is even worse than the worst Soulsborne game, which will always give you the complete package.

Wo Long is coming out which is literally chinese Nioh 2 with a jump and less loot.

The combat is good but I think it lacks a sense of impact and power. Combat that's fast and spammy and requires 50 actions per second get's tiresome fast. I enjoyed my combined 200 hours with Nioh 1 and 2 but I don't find them very attractive to play again.

Thanks, but I only used the biggest gun.
What is that "Chi" you are talking about anyway?

I’m assuming he means the stamina reset buttons.

Why is the white samurai so kino?

Let's not pretend that Any Forums didn't hate the fuck out of Nioh 1, and the only reason people pretend that it is good now isn't due to sheer anti-From contrarianism.

Nioh 2 pretty much never ends bro keep playing

I still don't like Nioh 1 but Nioh 2 was a massive improvement in every aspect and now I think Nioh 2 is a masterpiece

yes but ruined by the loot system.

hope they stay the fuck away from that with the wu long game

Wirriam and I share the same birthday :3

They're literally the same game with a couple new mechanics. You think it's a masterpiece because you're a coomer and would look down on it if it didn't have a character creator.

They said they dalready did everything with nip setting, so I don't see a 3rd game coming in a long long time. Otherwise, Wo Long might be the new IP to look for, although it seems they are going for a ninja Gaiden-like gameplay

yeah i bought the dlc and beat every mission but man it gets kinda old after a while and i hate replaying missions for some reason unless its those 2 in the last dlc where you fight every fucking anime for 30minutes that shit was crazy

Nioh sucks

damn did they really :/ wu long looks fire ofc but i miss william and hide baka would love to see a game where they co-op the whole time and fight some bigger crazier big bad like mk shaolin monks

just say its too hard for you bro its ok

What the fuck about Wo Long "looks fire"?
They didn't show shit.

It's always funny to me when people actively try to rewrite history while pretending they're the ones who have it right. Naturally I use the term "people" lightly.

I never understood why the loot system filters so many people
Gear is basically non-existent when you find a decent high level set and find a really good weapon.
Every drop of loot is just more shit to feed the Kodamas so you can level up. It's literally just mulch for XP and heals.
in my 200+ hours I never found myself min-maxing or worrying about my gear ever, the game is like 10% gear 90% skill

The biggest problem with the game is the skill tree and the sheer amount of useless shit you unlock in Ninjutusu, Samurai, and Omyo skill trees. Also adding layers of soul core bullshit and all this extra shit thats nearly meaningless adds a lot of extra time fiddling around in menus.

Those few new mechanics literally saved the game, and not only that they hired a much better composer for the music, the new Yokai are amazing, the backdrop of Hideyoshis rise to power is much more interesting historically, the level design is way better, the new weapons are way more fun etc. So yes there were a lot of things holding Nioh 1 back from being amazing.

The Nioh games really are too hard for the vast majority of Any Forums.

Nioh 2 has my 3 favourite things in a game; co op with no gimping, character creation, and samurai setting.

If it had a randomised dungeon endgame mode it would be perfect.

I don't understand how people can say they hate 1 but love 2 when both games have the exact same fundamental problems in their design, 2 only really made the good elements of 1 even better

Cope

based retard
Honestly this is the case for a vast majority of actually difficult games. The Souls franchise is like mid-tier difficulty wise but to Any Forums it's the hardest franchise ever. Team Ninja games are made by hardcore action gamers for hardcore action gamers.
Yes, the co-op system shits all over any Souls game. Nioh 2 literally feels like it was designed with co-op expeditions in mind, I have had more fun co-oping with random people's waifus and playing levels over and over again than any other coop game. Add to the fact that Nioh 2 has like 30 emotes and some of them with unique properties and you have a kino online experience.

Only thing that is ultra lacking is PvP but that would be hard af to balance.

Nioh 1 just feels clunky and not as well designed. Especially Yokai and boss fights. The inclusion of burst counters and Yokai Ki-draining elements really makes fights a lot less retarded and chaotic.

Is it me or is the splitstaff kind of strange? It's really got a different flow compared to the other weapons, wonder why didn't they just go with a regular bo staff

lol woops meant to call the Wukong guy based retard.

>Only thing that is ultra lacking is PvP but that would be hard af to balance.
They tried it in the first game and it fucking sucked.

>Nioh 1 just feels clunky and not as well designed
Could you really expand on that? Nioh 2 has added good things to be sure, and yokai abilities are an interesting way to keep up the offensive without relying only on ki but I don't see it that far ahead of the first one

i honestly completely forgot about that. It's a shame they didn't try to balance it out and make a fun PvP experience. The sheer amount of Nioh 2 builds would have made it interesting.
