the western Any Forums would continue to discuss 'mainstream' Jap games like Fromsoft and Capcom titles, leading to people here getting mad at people for discussing video games, and it would just further polarize the people who hate Jap games getting 'westernized'. /vg/ already exists for niche jap titles, just get the mods there to do their fucking jobs instead of making yet another video game board that lacks decent moderation.

The split boards, besides /vg/, and maybe to some extent /vr/, is already fucking dead.

/vg/ is very much a containment board and was created out of a direct need at the time: to segregate generals away from Any Forums. The other boards were redundant.
