Crackdown: Resurrection (2023)

What can be done to resurrect Crackdown in 2023?

Nothing, imagine caring about AAA games in this current era.

Crackdown 1 and 2 steam ports when

Microsoft could try making a good game.

does it need a resurrection?
it has had its two games. what more do you want?

you can't have cops as protagonists anymore

It's dead, Crackdown 3 was such a disgrace, and it took too long to come out, that I don't see Microsoft taking another chance with it. In fact, only the first Crackdown was somewhat popular, even without drama around it you could see Crackdown 2 didn't ruffle too many feathers in gaming space.

360 emulation not sucking dick and ass.

Crackdown 3 is unironically good

I bought crackdown 2 used from some old video store. Popped it in and saw it was the same map as 1 and I thought I got scammed. Like they just put a C1 disk in the box of 2 and sold it to me. Theres no way they'd make a second game with the exact map that's so fucking stupid, right??

Loved playing this on the 360 back in the day... wonder if its available on PC these days?

Crackdown 1 was so good.
I feel like the sequels completely misunderstood what made the first one so fuj and unique.
The coolest part was that every single enemy was a normalfag human that could be killed easilly like every other human. The challenge came from their weapons, quantity and positioning.
Making mutants in 2 and robots in 3 killed any fun I had.

I remember thinking the same thing, like its the same fucking map but with less characters and vehicles. I beat it in a single night and I was pissed.

Bump for law enforcement kino

Just Crackdown 1 with the cloud based destruction they promised. People love to blow shit up and that gimmick alone will keep players coming back just to release stress. Games like Teardown/Red Faction/EDF are stress tool games, giving you the power to "level" the world.

Absolutely nothing, the first game drained the well, there is nowhere else to go with this concept to justify another game.

People are working on an emulator.

>AAA

That's a little generous for Crackdown, eh?

I played the demo right before launch and was so disgusted I never went back. I pirated Crackdown 3 and had a similar response. Damn shame this series never got better but that's what happens when you spend ages delaying a game for the original Xbox to the point they push it next gen and have no clue where to go next even when it launches. It's even more insulting Crackdown 3 ends the exact same way 2 ends with some severed arm teasing rogue agents and never actually doing anything with it.
