belka have little to no involvement (despite what most speedplayers think this is true for ac7, the eruseans are coping when they blame everything on belka)
plane unlock system from ac7 also works quite well, keep it or make minor adjustments
a longer campaign, 25+ levels
occasionally make the player pick carrier-capable planes like 5

learn some lessons from PW, for example about weapon loadouts
wingmen that have personalities, ac7 really dropped the ball here
less gimmicky levels I swear three quarters of the levels in 7 are gimmicks, certainly in the midgame at least
new countries to play as/fight against in general would be nice. I always thought a game where you play as a Yuktobanian pilot could work well.

my post was not exactly written in offense to AC7, but yeah I agree on some of these. Fuck the beginning half of the Cape Rainy Assault. I hated the Aircraft Tree because it how long it took to get to planes you actually want to use. In the older games, I would sell my old dodgy aircraft for the superior models and keep it moving -- as a result of that, I would at least get the F-22 or something of value way before the story ended. Now I find myself doing the Lighthouse mission over and over to get Mihaly's plane, only to feel how it blows in comparison to the YF-23 and F-22. Literally the first game where the X-02 or equivalent didnt feel as good as a non-NG+ plane.

The guns kinda blew, too. I have a mod to fix that, and its fun, but it almost trivializes things.

Everything in my post and yours is true but I love the game regardless.

Wish they let you start before/after specific checkpoints on missions though, like if I JUST want to fight Mihaly or JUST want to fight the Arsenal Bird without going through bullshit first.
