After EGS exclusivity when the game was released on Steam, it was the "Ultimate Edition" only which came with all the DLC. Shortly afterwards it was in a humble monthly as a Steam key, it only said "Control" but everyone assumed it would be the Ultimate Edition since that's the only version on Steam. Well, it turns out it was just the base game which they hastily added to Steam just for the bundle, and not just that but a build based on an older patch that had some bugged sidequest preventing you from 100%-ing it, and also a bug where it wouldn't go past the start screen if you weren't connected to the internet effectively making it always online. Then there came the fact that the DLC wasn't sold by itself on Steam, to fix this they uploaded the separate DLC and put it for sale on Steam for like a month then took it down forever, then they started selling the DLC on the humble store which is to this day the only way to get the DLC if you only got the base game, and the cherry on top is that if you buy the DLC so that content-wise you're on par with the UE version, your game is still an older outdated build that doesn't get any updates because for internal Steam purposes it's a separate version of the game. And the only way to fix all this and get the updated version of the game is to get Steam to remove the game from your library so you can buy the whole UE version.
