The game is actually more fun and challenging until you get established. I'm a low spender (5 dollar monthly deal for the first couple months, then nothing since), but I have enough built characters to roll over the hardest content in the game. When I was first starting, the game was actually way more interesting. Whales just ruin that for themselves.
