>I don't want to play your shitty tutorial I want to play the damn game
>proceeds to post about how he can't figure out basic game mechanics that were explained in...the fucking tutorial

does any post on this board come off as genuine

Is this caused by the rise of shitty nano format video like TikTok?

I tolerate that, but dropped pokémon sun & moon because the entire game was a shitty tutorial. They'd stop and talk to me after I arrived to each objective or cleared a small area, it was obnoxious.

No? I've never done that in my life

and also I beat Metal Gear Rising without knowing you can block, and you know what? it was fucking fun you loser
I've never used tiktok in my life

>come into small town
>first quest
>quirky girl guides you around town
>shows you all the villagers
>every single one has small problems that you need to solve in the middle of the quest, like picking up boxes and shit
>takes like half a fucking hour
>reward is jack shit

This happens too much.

>open world
>loot
>gameplay is incredibly boring and doesn't open up tons of possibilities
i'm here to play a fucking game, not be occupied with stupid time-wasting shit. when will you fuckers finally learn

Female devs.

In what kind of games? What genre?

JRPGs and mid 2000s WRPGs like fable.

Im literally her

Depending on how long the tutorial is, it's the same as saying that the game won't be fun to play for at least as long as the duration of the tutorial, so I can understand a little being averse to them.

>Things that make you drop a game right away
When there's a spider on the case.

>my driving motivation is a character I just met three seconds ago and they're now kidnapped/missing so I don't interact with them over the course of the game
you want me to care about someone you have to make them more than a carrot on the end of a stick

If it doesn't feel good to play I drop it immediately. Glad that it only takes a few seconds to test out the controls. Saves a shitload of time.

I agree but not for the same reason. If you have a game with a forced tutorial I feel like your target audience is people who don't play games, so not me.
I hate how in the year 2k25 games still have tutorials like it isn't the most casualized hobby nowadays.

there are nufags everywhere. that's why.
plus i've seen you niggas play your games. some japanese games have extremely advanced combat. none of you can grasp it fully and act surprised when someone shows you post-game gameplay. don't act like forced tutorials are redundant for you faggots

If I can beat the games with the basics I see no problem, who cares if I lost muh advanced combat
