Nothing. Elden ring has the best bosses in the series

>what the fuck went wrong?
your transition

Almost like for the first time since souls their focus in a new game isn't the bosses anymore but instead the world, exploration and level design? Absolute retard they could've just made dark souls 4 if they want braindead bosses you can circle around and backstab

your shit bait thread went wrong.

The boss fights are by far the best in the series. You're fucking braindead if you think otherwise.

the best parts of these 2/5 rated gayms are still shit is what's been going on for 14 years at this point. (you) only have yourself to blame for continuing to give From Shit money.

Excessive use of AoE spam
Some absurdly long combos
Also all double bosses are inherently shit and lazy design

I just finished DS1 and DS2 and Elden Ring is so much better it's not even comparable

They're quite good for having to be designed around a lot of different playstyles, people with varying levels of familiarity with these games, and the fact that people spill encounter bosses at different levels. The biggest complaint is that they have to reuse bosses to fill the world and they use the "now fight TWO of these bosses at once" truck you many times. Personally I think people get too comfortable mid game and when they can't grind past the wall later they get frustrated rather than trying new strategies or enjoying learning the boss.

trying to mash all games together and forgetting sekiro isnt a roll game when reusing scrapped dlc assets
also retarded movesets because the only way to catch an experienced souls player offguard is to be batshit retarded with HOLD ATTACK AND THEN FLIP AND THEN CANCEL AND THEN FLIPP AND ANOTHER

and when designing their "expansive" open world (dragging a brush terrain tool around a tablet with their dicks) they made sure to make generic niggers they could reuse in peepeepooopoo chalicetombs #50 which makes beating a boss feel like shit because theres no actual reward or reason, they just put them there for the sake of having a bossfight even when its completely redundant

*presses l2 to kill everything and doesnt even have to roll because of the infinite iframe l2 move*
OOOOOH ANUS RING

Nothing. The bosses are fantastic

The recycling, what else?
Some of the bosses are great, but most of them are copy paste and bland.
Barely any gimmick fights makes it worse.

i liked these bosses way more than any boss in ds3

Disagree, gimmick fights kill replayability and are generally a slog. When they are VERY few and espectacular is better.

Margit alone shits on the entire catalog on Form Software, except Sekiro, but that game is very different mechanically.

/thread

Boss fights were never really the point of Souls games but Elden Ring has better bosses than most Souls games anyway.

This, I think of all the main boss groups (Archdemons/Soul Lords/Old Ones/Great Ones/Lords of Cinder), the Shardbearers completely dunks on the rest. Every one could be the main/final boss of their own game.

Gimmick fights break up the repetitiveness in the same playthrough.

Not much besides besides recycling. The actual fights themselves are pretty good.

Break up the repetitiveness in the FIRST playthrough. After that their just a nuisance because you already know what to do. Folding screen monkeys was a neat puzzle the first time around, a fucking slog every subsequent playthrough.

every souls game has used scrapped assets from the previous games

based retards
