Very low effort, even more so than ORAS. FRLG or HGSS will still be the gold standard for remakes, since they not only remake the games themselves but do offer some minor changes and some new things.

It's not really bad, but it is low effort. The game does some cool things like putting HMs in the poketch and having excellent boss battles in the postgame, the Battle Tower is the best in the series too. It's just not really much otherwise. It's just "DP but better" and doesn't try to offer a newer experience like the other remakes, for better or worse.
