So instead of looking like a game from the early 90's, it now looks like a game from the mid 2000's?

>This made boomers cream in their pants

It's not cringe but I think it takes away from the charm of Minecraft. Then again, who am I to tell anyone how they should enjoy Minecraft. Minecraft is all about being available to be whatever you want it to be, so, if you love raytraced Minecraft then I love that you love it and I think that you should enjoy playing Minecraft in whatever way pleases you, and no other opinion matters more than your own.

Minecraft and Quake are like the only ray traced game you can play right now. Of course it's fucking based.

It looks better than any other game. Playing with real light bounce is a magical experience.

Textured cubes with lighting effects is pure mid-2000's, see

>with lighting effects
That's not """lighting effects""". It behaves exactly like you would expect the real life sunlight to behave and it's mindblowing. Especially fun in minecraft where you can rearrange block to experiment with it. Someone even made a crude camera obscure with blocks.

>it's not lighting effects it's lighting effects!
Ok buddy.

>real life is lightning effects
lmao

How do you think IRL graphics are rendered?

>we need to use insanely more horsepower to achieve a result slightly better than the shortcuts we've been using for decades
lmao

Lol pretty accurate

You realize that devs use the very same ray tracing to bake all that "lighting effects" into textures for non-ray traced games? And then painstakingly manually place the fake lights to simulate real light behaviour? Having ray tracing calculated in game engine changes everything.
