I recently got a pet dwarf bunny and it's the comfiest thing ever. Loves me so much, easy to take care of (has its own toilet so doesn't make a mess). Usually just chills around me and runs around. I let it roam free and it was a bit of a project to move my setup on the table so it won't eat the cables.

Literally just a cuter, more chill, less selfish version of a cat. Why are bunnies not popular? So far hasn't damaged any furniture either. In my mind pet cats are now completely powercreeped by bunnies. It's also smart enough to understand it's own name and play simple games like jumping through the ring fit adventure hoop for treats

Your experience was a lot different than mine. My dwarf rabbit was a shit machine, would try to hump your hand constantly if you pet it, and if he was in a foul mood for whatever reason he'd fling piss everywhere instead of stomping like a rabbit is supposed to. Nasty little fuckers.

They're much higher maintenance than a cat, less unconditionally loving than a dog. For a lot of people, that's an awkward middle ground when you can just get either a dog or a cat. They still have a reputation of being simple small pets like hamsters or goldfish, which keeps them popular, when in reality none of those pets are simple to care for, so people neglect them or outright abandon them when they have the slightest bit of trouble with them.

really? haven't had bunny but from what i recall some bunny owners saying years ago that if you let them just be out of cage they shit wherever.
actually grandma had one, but it was on countryside so it was no problem. could just put it on leash and let jump around outside and shit there. but then it was eaten by mink or similar creature

Mine doesn't. In this picture the one poop is on the ground because when he jumps out of there, he sometimes flings a piece of poop somewhere. I've found just a few poops elsewhere during a month, and since they're just rock solid pieces of grass they're easy to just pick up and move to the right place.

Maybe I got a smart one but mine doesn't do any of this ever. It's 1.5 years old good little boy. Hasn't been castrated either

Well yeah I pretty much treat it like a cat. Doesn't seem like a dumb animal in the slightest, pretty much exactly like a cat except not a selfish scratching motherfucker like cats are. Just cute and soft, begs a lot of attention and is very social in general
