What does AAA stand for?

It is supposed to mean A-tier graphic, A-tier music and A-tier gameplay. But it really only means big budget.

Triple A games is to video games what blockbuster is to movies.

It's primarily a budgetary designation. AAA titles are the Hollywood blockbusters of vidya, the ones that you dump hundreds of millions of dollars into because with enough hype, they'll turn a profit by week's end. Because of this, companies will spend a lot (and I mean a fucking LOT) of money trying to convince you that their product is the best thing ever and that you should spend your money on it.
