Yes.

>press circle to dodge
>"""mechanics"""
fucking mmos have greater depth of their boss fights than gael
he was never a good boss, people just glorify him because they confused their inability to press circle at the right time with the boss being hard

Based

>first playthrough of DS3
>reach Ringed City DLC
>get my shit pushed in

Why is this DLC so hard? Who's bright idea was it to place 6 of those headless knights on that stair case?

Gael isn’t really that hard, but the kino levels are off the charts

try plunging attack

I had to pull a DSP in that area. Just run. I feel ashamed. Those black knights hit like a motherfucker too. There's even an area where they placed 4 of them together. Dealing with the DragonSlayer Armor in the swamp was more manageable than all the other shit.

No

this user actually gets it
>B-BUT THERE'S HARDER BOSSES
a boss with a quadrillion health that reduces all damage you do to 1 that's also hooked up to a USB peripheral where every four seconds a hydraulically-powered hammer hits your balls would be harder, but that wouldn't be BETTER. Gael was an 11/10 finale to souls and anyone who disagrees is a brainlet, pure and simple.

an obese santa clause wasnt and isnt the finale the series deserved

Not even dodge, just stick to his left side with just walking and he will miss a majority of his attacks.

>you brainlessley roll around and mash R1 a lot and the music goes "ughhh doooo uhhhh hurd ohhh duoooo dhahhhh" way too loud
Wow they really mixed things up with Gael huh?

headless fatties are easy to read and dodge, their problem is they have absolutely too much health and fighting more than one at a time shortens your viable windows and makes everything take exponentially longer, you really want to seperate and 1v1 burst them down; plunging is good, fire is also good.

frankly I found the ringed k***hts, especially the shield ones more dangerous and annoying than the big dudes, especially when fighting more than one, or in narrow areas or on bridges or something, but a really easy trick for *them* is to just use the friede's scythe hoarfrost stomp thing to create an opening while they're blocking and go in for some hits

idk i just always found blocking enemies really annoying or difficult compared to other people, like I know in ER a lot of people hate the spear crucible knights and find the sword/shield ones easier, but for me the spear dudes were always easy and the shield guys were the a challenge

Souls bosses are far more about presentation than the complexity of the fight itself. That's why any one boss from Dark Souls or Bloodborne are superior to Elden Ring.

Absolutely not, but I still like Gael. I like how huge the arena to fight him is for such a small target. Wish they did something similar again where it feels like you have a level set aside to running around with the boss.

friede and sully were the 2 best bosses of DS3
gael is a close third

Name all Elden Ring bosses you consider better than Gael

Every single Shardbearer + Horah Loux, Maliketh, Placidusax, and Radagon/Elden Beast

But he IS a boss in Elden Ring

nta but the only ER bosses I think are noteworthily good compared to the prior games are the dragons, namely placidusex.

old souls dragons were pretty boring to fight, hp sponges, endurance tests. I didn't like midir that much, He was easy to read and dodge and had crystal clear openings, he just took a really long ass time to fight

ER dragons much flashier and exciting to fight (except decaying ezykes, that niggas rot AoE thing that needs you to hop on the horse and run a mile away was just really fucking weird; battle practically felt like it *needed* to be cheesed unless you were ng+ and could 1/2 shot him with a bubble enema from the envoy longhorn) in general and I like them a lot, otherwise most of the other bosses range from OK (radagon, mogh) to gimmicky (malenia, maliketh; both feeling like discount friede clones yet failing to live up to the template) to gay (elden beast, astel, tree spirits; with annoying spacing bullshit or unreadable squiggling around)
