I think dino crisis 1 is the ultimate survival horror and have thought so for a while

It's definitely underrated. It's a fun game but I probably would've felt ripped off if I bought it back in the day because it's like 4 hours long. I always thought it was weird that you have to go into the options menu and turn on the dodge step mechanic because it's pretty much your only defensive maneuver other than running away. Dino Crisis 2 is also interesting in that it was basically the precursor to both RE4 and the first DMC game. It was Capcom's first attempt at taking the Resident Evil gameplay and making it more arcadey; adding a dodge move, having the player more points depending on how good they play, spending currency to unlock new stuff ect.

The giganotosaurus did me a spook when I was a kid.

While both are great games I like Dino Crisis 1 better.

When the FUCK are we going to get a Dino Crisis remake or a Jurassic Park survival game?

there are actually a lot of indie dino games coming out in the next couple years

sell me on it op. and should I play the first, first?

Damn that's brutal

>indie

That translates to early access scams.

I can't believe they did a better Rex vs Giga fight in DC2 than in that new Jurassic World movie

it's also interesting that I never felt bad about this Rex getting killed. He was hunting us all throughout the game so maybe we were all sick of him (even Regina's line was like "you again").

There's just a small hint in the form of collectible notes of a larger carnivore, very easily missable. Then BAM, new big bad and I was like FUCK YEAH

Compound Fracture looks cool, but there's not even a release date for it.

They are very different games. Dinosaurs 1 is like Resident Evil, the 2nd one is a balls out action game. Both are good.

I'm still salty about this.

A few months back some user said that the reason Capcom didn't do a DC remake after Resident Evil 2 remake's success was that animating/rigging realistic dinosaurs was difficult, but we know that's bullshit. In this Exoprimal game dinosaurs are doing all sorts of backflips, and Capcom owns Monster Hunter where half the enemies are dinosaurs.

So what? Mocap and VA? They always use working actors anyway; always unknown and cheap. They can re-use REMake's assets for the hallway corridors too. No, they just decided that NO ONE is going to buy a Dino Crisis remake. Fucking idiots.

That's good. i hope the dude releases it when it's done and not use early access to run away with the cash. I fucking love that the inventory menu looks like classic Dino Crisis/RE style

honestly I would've been very unhappy if that was regina but there's no way capcom didn't know what they were doing

I'm sure this exothing game is big promo for upcoming Dino Crisis reimagination after RE4R release.

This was extremely shitty of them. They knew what they were doing.

>expect Regina to be all sullen PTSD after DC1
>"lol Dylan are u seriously using a sword? what are you, conan the fucking barbarian??"

I love her so much.

I also remember that DC1 had really good voice acting, especially in a time where Jap games just get random gaijins off the street to record lines (looking at you Silent Hill).

Anyone see Cooper?

Probably just scared after Dino Crisis 3. To my knowledge DC was never that big a seller so they probably thought it's better to make basically the same thing but under a different name so that they have more freedom to do whatever.

I’ve always thought of it as the precursor to Monster Hunter

Its crazy how Capcom has so many of those games that are not a big financial success despite being good, so we'll never see some great games again. DMC5 almost wasn't made, DD2 almost wasn't made, stuff like Megaman are pretty much on the freezer, Dino Crisis, Breath of Fire and a bunch of fighting games are buried. Really sad.
