From what I’ve seen, it’s mainly a problem specifically in the West. We’ve ironically been completely mindfucked into thinking that guys and girls are only supposed to act a single way and if you step outside of that paradigm, you are “broken” and need to transition (which makes things worse cause you’re simply denying the other half of yourself)
In Japan they seem to have a much more realistic grasp on things. And a good example of this is in the comments for this song about gender norms- youtu.be/i-DZukWFR64
The JP comments are generally talking about the actual meaning of the song: struggling between the kind of person that you are expected to be and the kind of person that you are (in the context of feminine guys and masculine girls), but a large majority of the English comments that try to discuss it, are instead attributing it all to genderfluid and trans shit.
