>if you're killed by an Argonian Vampire he may become known as "Breaks-Many-Shields" and be given the Shield-Breaker buff as part of his stats upgrade. The debuff inflicted on you from the encounter may force you to be unable to use shields, too. And then, as part of your revenge quest, your nemesis may be found in a vampire lair, since Breaks-Many-Shields is a vampire.

>Dying to anything in Skyrim

Skyrim is a way worse base for mods than Oblivion was. So it's a real shame that Skyrim effectively murdered Oblivion.

Isn't the system copyrighted? How would that work in relation to a free mod?

came to post this

Dont call it nemesis system and done

I’m more curious about the respawn system. How many Quests does that break?

None, at least the captivity mod thats been around since launch never broke any quests.

There aren't any.. "has player beeen killed" flags in vanilla skyrim since y ou were always expected to simply reload a savegame

but if you get defeated in Skyrim you reload your last quicksave...

what about dragons?

Lots of mods since launch that add various penalties rather then just reloading

Like waking up a slave, in a cage in a bandit camp, locked in a vampire or necromancer dungeon, dumped by a river with all your stuff gone etc

I'm sure WB will still try to C&D/sue over it but legally speaking, it's not even doing the same thing as the nemesis system. All that happens is the enemy that kills you gets a name, buffs, and you get debuffs, and all of that goes away when you kill them. They can't, stalk you, run away when they're losing, come back from the dead, join your ranks, etc. Hell, from the subs of things, they don't even get anything else beyond the initial encounter. Patenting the nemesis system was greedy as fuck but even still, patenting a game mechanic is pretty tricky and generally has to get pretty fucking specific, else the patent office will tell you to fuck off for trying to own a vague idea. Odds are that this is lacking enough mechanics and functions differently enough to pretty easily avoid legal issue, especially because it's free.

>using the broken quicksave function
Enjoy your busted save game.

I've never once lost a file to a quicksave bugging out, and I've been playing Bethesda games for a years.
But even if that happens, you load you last save from before and continue from there. It's not like every single quicksave is going to be bugged.

for 15 years*
numlock was turned off lol.

It's a myth. I finished a 100% survival FO4 playthrough relying on fucking exitsaves, the only bug I had in ~160 hours was getting stuck in geometry two or three times.

Cool, now we need mod that makes skyrim a good game.

I prefer the mod where I get raped when I'm beaten although it was a bit weird when those embassy guards just walked away after raping the intruder.

exitsaves aren't quicksaves. they're just regular manual saves. the real problem comes from the QUALITY bethcode attempting to load the quicksaves anyway.

It's given me the blackface bug a few times in fallout 4 but earlier saves fixed it. What sucks is playing for ages before you realize the bug happened.

Source? They work exactly like quicksaves.
