Where to play them? Is tabletop simulator worth it?
Chess and other Turn based video games
Lichess is best for chess. TTS is still worth it if you have friends, voice chat etc. For other games beyond chess. Especially the VR
lichess.org
Chess.com if you are a beginner. It has quite a few learning tools and an overall larger userbase so no matter your skill level you can usually find any type of match quickly. Lichess.org is a nice alternative if you are only looking for matches.
lichess.org is actually free unlike the assholes at chess.com
You should be able to solve this, Any Forums.
FPS chess. Closest you will get to chess 2. Fun game, and requires both the strategy of normal chess and being good at shooters to win. And also king isn’t a bitch unit any more
They are both free. Access to certain learning tools is behind a paywall though.
Who moves?
black, most recent move was white's
lichess is instant matches though I will say if you're sub 1500 you're going to get fucking murdered. The average skill on lichess is surprisingly high, you'll play some wacky opening randomly and your opponent will be like 'OHOHOH that's the scandinavian defense with a reach around counter gambit, i have that memorized to 14 moves in".
I played competitively in tournaments, and won a lot, as a kid, and I get fucking blasted on lichess. Of course some games I dominate too, but on average I get absolutely bodied.
This thing there!
troll "problem", ignore
???
???????
Qa5 winning the slidey religious chap
good start but your problems aren't over
yes they are?!?!?!
F6, BF4, BXF4, Q or Castle take the bishop on F4 and you win the bishop on A6
f6
bxf4 runs into qxf4 check so you don't win the bishop
but f6 is right
are you drunk
>whites move first
Just take the other bishop first then and move the king to protect the rook if he pins it
yea then qxa6, up a piece, gg.
qxa6 is correct but it's not over
nigga it's all ogre, either take with the tower and play into the pin or move the kang away from danger, trust me i have 90IQ
...rxd6, then white can forfeit with dignity.
takes with tower is correct but you've still got two only-moves
oh you already said play into the pin so i guess one only-move left
Qb6 double attack
block with tower
solved
now you say gg shake my hand
How do you know your opponent in online chess isn't using a chess AI? Even shitty ones that can run on low end computers can easily beat human grandmasters these days
They'll play very slowly if they're cheating. Post-game analysis can show if they're likely cheating and then you just report them.
You don't. You can kind of tell if someone is playing above their usual skill level but in just random games it is harder to tell unless someone makes cpu moves 100% of the time. The thing is that chess computers still don't actually play like humans. They can beat them but you can definitely tell when you are against one. They make moves that most humans would just never make.
Indians always DC before cheating, otherwise there's absolutetly no way of telling.
they take the same amount of time regardless of complexity of move (3 seconds for a forced move, 3 seconds for a super packed position)
also they'll play at like 98% accuracy
Also they mouse away from the window before and after every turn. You can't tell they're doing this but lichess and chesscom can
because those programs cost actual money and there's very few people that would give a shit about cheating in online chess, so it's not an issue. I can't speak to 2000+ ranking where people might actually care, but nobody gives a shit at lower ranks. I've had people get angry at me for thinking I'm deliberately smurfing at lower elos in real life tournaments - one that stands out is when I was 8 I played at
This one should be easy
