Ninja Gaiden 1/2 or Nioh 1/2?
Which one do you prefer
ninja gaiden, nioh is a slog
ninja gaiden, I hate souls likes
Ninja Gaiden, it's just better in every single way. I'll say the best thing about Nioh2 is the character creation, the worst thing about Nioh is the looting / comparing stats, it's fucking aids.
Ninja Gaiden, I don't like the RPG stuff or flux2 spam
Me too, but that has nothing to do with the thread
>inb4 nioh is souls like
lmao
>play nioh 2
>ki pulse irl to cancel long actions
Despite Ninja Gaiden being successful how come it doesn't seem to be that well known as an action game series? Bayonetta and Devil May Cry seem to steal the spotlight.
Because its legitimately bad
Because the gameplay is famous for being seriously difficult so that filters out casuals and normies. The other thing is that Ninja Gaiden doesn't have much in the way of storytelling. You are simply some generic ninja dude and kill the bad guys. And when the developer actually tried to do an intriguing story they completely failed with Ninja Gaiden 3.
I enjoyed both but Nioh has the worst loot system I can remember
Ryu isnt as much as a meme as the flashy dante and bayonetta. Hes a very serious man. The cast and story lack personality. On top of how difficult the games are.
Being serious isn't really such a problem. Solid Snake from Metal Gear is a serious man and yet people remember him as a character and like him.
So the same issue as Leonardo from Ninja Turtles. He's the serious leader type typically while the other turtles get all the personalities. And the thing for Ryu is he basically works alone. He doesn't have to interact with anyone to play off of and I don't count the female characters who very much are nothing but sex bait.
He flirted a lot, and had more wild characters to bounce off of. He was the straight man to everyone else. Hense why i included the cast of ninja gaiden.
Snake as a character is serious yes but he also seems to have a normie side to him so when Snake finally learns the truth that he's a clone of an old global terrorist his outlook on life changes. He's still working to carry out justice but his demeanor changes slightly. And Snake benefits from other elements like how fucking weird the world of Metal Gear happens to be with all the super humans and artificial intelligence machines taking over the world. That helps people remember the character as well.
>metal gear is a serious story
The fucking shit I read on this board
I beat NGB and NG2 and I beat Nioh 2 twice. Id say I love both equally.
However, Nioh 2 is probably Team Ninja's masterpiece. It's way too much to really put into detail though because I know this thread and this post are going to be ignored, but I feel like in time zoomers are going to make a million video essays on why Nioh 2 was a underrated masterpiece.
The game literally has some of the greatest enemy design ive ever seen, the game has some of the greatest videogame music of all time, the game has some of the most fun and satisfying combat ever, the game has some of the best boss fighters ever, I could go on and on about Nioh 2
Really when it comes down to it they put their entire heart and fucking soul into Nioh 2. There is just so much little details that other developers skip over that Nioh 2 doesn't. And it really feels like a passion project where every developer was on the same page and they were really trying their hardest to make a game for the enthusiast gamer.
>video essay making zooms
>playing nioh 2
I can't fathom the optimism this user has
Are we ever going to get a fresh new Ninja Gaiden game?
The master collection was to test the waters. It did average. Who knows.
