I honestly want to like this, and parts of it are really interesting, but it feels like it's 90% filler. 90% of all of the gameplay, investigations, dialogue, feels like filler. On VNDB it has a playtime of 36 hours, I feel like a story like this could be done in 6-10 hours easily.
The "filler" isn't even used to make the characters more likable, it's just the author humoring himself.
AI Somnium Files Nirvana Initiative
Fair
It took me several hours to realize this series was supposed to be a comedy but a very unfunny one.
The main problem for me is the new side characters. I'm supposed to feel bad for Kizuna but I can't get over how forced and fake her relationship with Lien is. Same with Amame and Gin. And both of these plotlines take up a huge chunk of screentime.
How come they didn't have the real Mizuki do Tearer's somnium so that she could relate to his mommy issues?
fanks.
The first game also had filler that was mostly unrelated to the mystery like Mayumi and Mizuki's routes but those were actually good. The problem with AI2 is the filler is shit
Sadly, Uchikoshi is unapologeticly pro-tranny now. I will never play his games ever again.
Yes, this is what I'm thinking desu
The game itself felt lazy, too many assets reused from the original game. The new characters weren't as interesting as the originals and just reusing the original characters all the time decreased their charm. Since we already knew the returning characters we didn't really learn anything new about them, besides Mizuki's backstory which frankly was the answer to a question nobody was asking. And lastly the twist was interesting but having the fat homo tranny explain it to you felt super cheap.
Is it worth playing just for the twist? should i just watch the last 2 hours of the game in a playthrough or is the buildup super important? I'm like 6 hours in and really don't enjoy it (but am curious about what's happening). I'm assuming it's just another it's all a simulation twist
lmao, it's a line on the fucking Epilogue of the game, also a joke.
And it even makes a parallel to disabled people with trannies.
I enjoyed playing it but yeah it had some serious flaws compared to the first game and some "for what?" moments.
It gets better on a second playthrough when you already know the gimmick.
It's not just one line, Mizuki goes on a full rant how she wants to protect all kinds of minorities. And then everybody clapped. I mean, the fat troon offered her 8 million.
I'm assuming the gimmick is similar to umineko's you can only be sure you're seeing the truth when the detective is on the scene?
The twist is fucking terrible.
>Tokiko's goal is to rend the simulation by creating a time paradox
How come Komeji's route doesn't do the same? It literally creates a paradox where Komeji lives and therefore the corpse at the very beginning cannot exist.
Not even close.
The gimmick is only there to make the story appear more mysterious and complicated than it is.
I wanted to like the first one but I stopped playing it after the scene where she beats up a bunch of armed yakuza with an iron pipe.
I'm more than used to japanese silliness and I even appreciate it usually, but there's a limit to my suspension of disbelief to the point the world just lacks any basic coherence at all. By that point the story was already going in a direction I didn't like so that scene was just the last straw more than anything. I liked the characters though. Dumb dialogues, but fun.
i do not understand what you mean by this at all
Because you didn't play the game.
