Peridot was great until she stopped being relevant and became just a comic relief weirdo.
It’s honestly the problem with SU as a whole. It starts decent and even at points gets good, but by the end it’s all just wasted potential. People love Spinel because she showed up in the final act and so didn’t have the screen time to get ruined like everyone else.

Yeah. The gems are also an incredibly interesting alien race, but they rarely explore just what makes them interesting in a satisfying way, instead opting to zero in on schlocky melodrama.
In regards to Peridot, it was over for her as soon as she got barn'd, and pairing her with Lapis was the final nail. They should have given her a room in the temple and made her a proper main character.
