what do they eat

I always found the islands weird as a kid, it just always felt like there was suppose to be more to then.

ass

Lorelei's specifically

Same. Sure some of the islands had the Legendary birds but I swear there were islands with literally nothing like why bother even putting into the game?

very based

They are one of those things that even as a kid you realize is a huge missed opportunity

They were there to let you get few Johto mons

I didn't even have Gen 2 to compare it with at the time, I had no idea about 16 gyms yet, it just felt lacklustre as a kid. I just went through what each of them had had of interest but there is not much.

>Island 1
Main hub for the Island questline to get Ruby/Sap trading, treasure beach, Moltres/Mt. Ember.
>Island 2
Nothing
>Island 3
Berry stuff
>Island 4
A 2nd day care, Ice Fall Cave
>Island 5
A short post game Team Rocket base, Togepi egg, Lost Cave
>Island 6
Altering Cave which went unused
>Island 7
Unknowns and Battle Tower

fish and imports.
An island is a stupid place to ask that shit about.

it's crazy how now that I think about it, Pokémon games have always been half assed
if you told me that screen is from a RPG Maker game made using only base assets and tilesets I would believe you

Yeah. It really sucks knowing that's all there is.
I really thought there was some big secret in that one forest, but they just meant the grass looked like a circuit board.

Actually home is Pallet Town.
Fucking fight me, queer.

They walk such a blurred line between fan rom and actual game that I forget they exist

The point of the Sevii islands was to add new shit because GF didn't want to alter the region in any way.
For instance, Two Island, which says has nothing is where
>you can buy Repeat Balls and Timer Balls
>you find the move relearner
>you find the tutor for the starter moves
>you can play those multiplayer minigames that admittedly nobody cared about

This

>buy a bunch and never come back
>5 min visit a most
>5 min visit again
>nobody cared

>it doesn't count

it literally doesn't! Being able to buy unique balls isn't a headline feature since the only interaction a player would have is flying in to buy them then going away immediately. Starter moves are just a conversation on your first trip to Island 4 realistically, and move relearner is alright but it's another fly in/fly out rather than actual content.

I know that having both regions was a big deal for Gen 2, but I kinda wish that FR and LG did it in reverse. Beat Kanto, and then move through Johto.

do you think the old man gets off to knowing the pokemon are banging right behind him?
