I love the original games, I likes this remaster too.

How about you play it yourself and find out. Fuck you asking a bunch of randos on Any Forums of all places to form your opinion for you? Fuckin' brainless drone.

PS1 was doodoo for platformers and this plays just like the PS1 version but with an art director that wanted to fuck anthro dragons

It’s an okay remake. A few questionable creative choices like how some of the characters look, but everything else is not far off from the originals. People point out the some differences as if they make the game unplayable, but they were just fine. I’d still recommend the originals if you ever had to pick what to play between the two.

Emulate the originals. They had SOUL. The only good thing about the remake is the porn

I'm just here for more Ninanon fauns.

Objectively speaking it's higher fidelity than the original runs on modern hardware, and doesn't suffer from scaling a UI meant for 240p. However aesthetically it doesn't really capture as much quality as the original.
It features FMVs that aren't any better looking than in game footage, which is somewhat annoying as they were rendered in at 30fps AND only in 720p (Later updated to 1080p on PC only [why]) this introduces a minor technical issue where if an FMV fails to initiate in Spyro 2 Controls will be permanently broken and stuck in the control set for FMV playback as there is no sanity check for changing the controls when actual gameplay begins.
The game makes use of fairly basic Unreal Engine lighting, which despite their best efforts to mask via Fogs and texture work means a lot of lighting is incredibly soft an all objects generally offputting and poor at conveying depth of a scene.
Issues with multiple game functions occur (and progressively get worse) at framerates above 30, such as certain in stage timed events failing to engage, Spyro's acceleration and deceleration not correctly functioning, timers running faster than intended.
This can be a fairly acceptable way to play the Original Spyro Trilogy, but as a spyro autist I wouldn't really recommend it if you can tolerate the lower visual fidelity of the originals.
