it had some great ideas but rarely fleshed those ideas out and instead just went the safe route and copied OOT. It had some great set pieces like the bandit camp and the bridge battle, but inbetween the cool stuff is annoying padded sections.

I think the dungeons are a mixed bag. Fire Temple gave more depth to the iron boots but holy fuck is the dungeon really slow and tedious
The sand dungeon is cool but its essentially a rip of forest temple from oot, but then you get something like the Ice mansion that feels completely original and is easily the highlight of the game

if they just gave more depth to the wolf and characters like midna and lilia and fleshed out the overworld, it would be top 3 zelda,

TP was basically an aesthetic apology for Wind Waker's art style while also not really fixing any of WW's real problems (outside of being unfinished)

I will admit to you the insect hunts made me quit this game on my second playthrough. However, nothing was wrong with the wolf aesthetic, the environments were good at , worst, and it is probably the 3rd hardest 3d zelda. Rethink yourself.

I really like TP's dungeons, but not the shit you have to do between them. It shouldn't have been the goal to make 'the longest Zelda Adventure yet' (or whatever the blurb on the box said) if they were just going to load it with busywork. Also the amount of rupees everyone needed for donations was ridiculous, and TP's postman is the worst character in any Zelda game.

Skyward Sword IS bad. The worst 3D Zelda by a mile.

There is not a single good 3D Zelda game.

The irony is the game isn’t even “dark” outside a couple of surface level aesthetic choices for the Twilight Realm. Besides the grey palette, everything was pretty cartoony looking and most of the characters were goofy ugly weirdos

Dungeons are so overrrated in this game. They were giant set pieces that looked good. The layouts were a step down from the N64 dungeons.

How is that any darker than anything that cane before or after in the series? The only people that actually die in TP is the fish queen and both the villains.
