Why is it when I drink and play vidya I need to get really fucked up to start having fun whereas when I smoke weed I always just need a bowl or two and smoke really moderately

I should have played it before I knew the big plot points, but it's still fun as fuck and impressive on a technical level (I've tried making a space game before. Big moving planets are very challenging to build).
