I've played DMC2. I played the series for the first time on 2020 and went into DMC2 with a completely open mind.
It's not the worst game ever (I've played worse) but it's still a very awful game; it's as bad as a Senran Kagura game.
That's why I can't wrap my mind around Any Forums loving DMC2 so much.
