It is the ideal console for a deserted island/bunker during the happening scenario, due to the fact that you can hack it, put in a huge hard drive, and get all PS3/PS1 games and most PS2 games completely for free.
Stick a huge capacity USB drive full of shows and movies and porn and you're set for the bunker.

disregard anyone saying you can emulate ps2 games, it's techically possible with cfw but it's a lagfest if you don't have the old fat model (which sucks anyway)

I would never recommend a PS3 for PS2 emulation especially on non-bc models but this is not entirely true. Sure, some games play like shit and others won't even work or have game breaking bugs but I played a shit ton of PS2 games on my cfw slim model and had little to no problems with them. If the only thing you have is an old cfw ps3 slim then I would def recommend looking into PS2 emulation, plenty of games run perfectly fine.

nta but have you actually tried to emulate ps2 games on a cfw ps3 slim? I did, I played dozens of games and only had issues with a couple of them. I also add some entries to that wiki which is very incomplete.
