What do you think electricity is, buddy? It's not air. Rather, depending on the lore of the system fire, air, earth and water should translate to energy, gas, solid and liquid respectively. That makes more sense - and in my far more sensible system electricity is actually a type of fire magic.

Why do you think light is associated with pure force like shields and enhancement like healing and buffs? It's just augmenting and energizing the existing matter. Dark is the direct opposite in that it disperses magic and deteriorates the nature physical function of things it comes into contact with - hence 'undead' being a state of dark magic and the strongest undead immortals being masters of the dark arts.
